was your phone tech and virtual onsite different from normal SWE process? how hard were they
congrats! are there any books/courses/projects you think were useful for prepping for distributed systems interviews
@ruby stream what’s new grad comp looking like this year
uhh some interviews are DS specialized @mellow plinth, and extra low level. p hard im ngl i got caught off guard a bit in VO
books wise read DDIA @lilac umbra
will not reveal comp details but standard ng offer it sounds like @finite holly
Got it, Is this for tech as well or just VO?
Hi, how long did you wait after VO?
dds pipeline placement is only post phone
wdym?
oh meaning like phone is same for both
my recruiter said im in dds process in call before phone but makes sense that phone would be same for both cuz it seems like just alg
@ruby stream yo, may I ask how long did you wait after VO?
feel like if you are a great candidate, they will give the result pretty quick
do u think DDIA sufficient for vo prep in terms of the ds-specific stuff
not going to drop the question but if you haven't taken atleast a few low level systems courses its gonna be tough
cramming DDIA isn't realistic, the entire industry runs on the book lol
gg
low level meaning like OS or smth else?
os and distributed systems
i see, dont drop question yeah but is conceptual knowledge enough or is it coding too
for ds-specific part
Damn
@ruby stream is behavioural more of a resume grill / deep dive or standard "tell me about a time..."
tyty
@ruby stream any chance u got a form after ur final for transcript + sponsorship info?
no i didnt
yo I made it past phone for DDS, is the system design round low level systems, or API calls and stuff?
I took Operating Systems and Distributed Systems, and have a weak understanding of relational databases
