sadly probably
i talked through the full solution on learning, just ran out of time on writing the last code
it wasnt that difficult, i just made too many tiny mistakes that wasted time
fdse?
ye
how was first tech/
for some reason my tech got scheduled for october, how long after rec call did u have yours
2 weeks
i got rec call invite early july, call late july, tech, 2nd week august, vo today
gl dude
I had my VO yesterday
fdse?
Ye
Any tips on how to prep for learning lol ive heard sql
decomp was mostly chill, safe to say i was shocked by the question but i did have a good solution that the interviewer was happy with
Potato you know how long they take to get back
how technical did u guys go for decomp
i dont
i heard as fdse especially ur not supposed to go too technical into the design but idk..
For me we got into the nitty gritty of pros and cons of one service
ah gotcha
it's more about logically breaking down the problem
im just watching hellointerview hopefully thats enuff
i broke it down into 4 sub problems and provided technical solutions for each part and then linked them\
Did you have the restraunt noise potato?
no
gotchu yea I did the same process I broke it down into key services
I’m scared I heard some ppl hear back same day for HM but I haven’t heard yet
nah some people it takes a week ive seen
invite for HM?
Ye
for vo invite i didnt hear back for a week until i emailed a follow up to the recruiter lol
Okay that makes me less stressed
Because honestly I don’t think I sold
What learning was it
i did all but the last one
which the last one i half completed and talked thru the rest of it
🙏
yeah
Ahh I went 5/5 thankfully
Was your last one about plotting cars over time typa thing
yeah
my interviewer didnt give me 5, he only gave 3 Lol, he took up a lot of time explaining the stuff at the beginning
Yee that one lowkey I had to scan through the docs but the group by date functjon name saved me 😭✌️
Hella easy queries tbh
no joins?
Hard to explain but it’s not SQL
just select from where stuff?
It’s like an ORM
Nah it’s a client facing API that offers an interface to construct your queries
And there’s a server side of it that executes it
it's basically a test on how fast u can understand the documentation lol
Yeah it is
Is doing aight on decomp but acing learning chill to pass HM. Spartacus it seems you know more about how they gauge
tbh i was only 2 lines of code away from finishing, so maybe im ok
my decomp was really good
@rugged venture what did u do to prep decomp
I can’t tell how decomp goes they just keeping asking the what ifs 😭🙏🙏
i watched half of the neetcode system design course and then got lazy lol
i had enough previous knowledge to where i didnt need to prepare that much
Tbh after going through 2 different onsites
It’s completely random
The problem is that 100 people will be at onsite
And only 20 can advance to hm
So it just depends on what the bar the hm sets
Your prev exp doesn’t matter
yeah def
