#Looking For New Grad SWE Roles, CRITICISM NEEDED

i’ve gotten a few interviews but not many
did you use gpt 5
be… careful with that. it sucks
currently looking through your resume bullet points and it looks like you used it for almost every single one
there does not need to be a semicolon on every single line…
that’s very weird
and a lot of these points are just way too technical idk how any recruiter is gonna understand them
what happened was my bullets were previously super long so i used gpt 5 to shorten about half of them
and it used semicolons to break up the ideas
is there a better way to break up ideas other than using semicolons
some people have said this to me but idk how to get across the technical details of projects without sounding “too technical” idk what the balance is
either i sound too technical and it’s hard to read, or ATS auto rejects me before a human even gets to read it, idk what the best approach is in terms of technical density
i recommend version 4. or you may need to tweak the version 5 prompt to not write in that weird style 😭
i was originally using o3, then i switched to 5 thinking
i can prompt it to suggest other styles that don’t use semicolons, but i feel like semicolons are a standard practice for combining multiple ideas no?
you can try that but also maybe some ideas can be omitted? im sure there’s some stuff that’s not too important
so you can choose which to keep
yea the thing about chat gpt suggestions is it always favors technical depth over human readability and it’s hard to see it from a recruiters perspective
