the other one but nice try
Maybe try ARM? Don't they have an apprenticeship for UK only?
yes, ill be applying there when its open
Also in general your bullets are not terribly detailed or long
Could have more bullets
Like was your gb emulator cycle accurate or just functional?
How was it verified
What techniques did your processor implement for perf (pipelining etc.)
How was that verified
Same goes for your interpreter
it says it was single-cycle in the bullet point
for sure
i just wanted to get my feet wet, hadnt written anything in verilog longer than ~20 lines before that
u sound like you know a decent amount abt computer architecture, do u have any recommendations for books
my course doesnt do anything really in depth for it until 3rd year and im not trying to wait that long
mb yeah
- Computer Organization and Design
- Computer Architecture: A Quantitative Approach
Both by Hennessy and Patterson
Do note that realistically speaking, computer architecture will not directly benefit you for SWE roles
and that Computer Architecture is really a research topic that requires a PhD
some aspiring computer architects can start as modeling engineers out of an MS
other roles that would require comp arch knowledge would include embedded, fpga, Design verification, RTL Design, FPGA
thank you
yeah but i mean its interesting
yeah true
oxbridge would be one of the best places to study comp arch
