#What’s wrong with this dumpster fire of a resume? Be brutal

the leadership and achievements section is kinda redundant, at least the three entries i can see. idk about the other two, but id consider removing it or moving the truly impressive ones under your education section. it doesnt add enough value to take up that much space
first project seems good, venture funding makes it strong, id do a third project to replace the leadership section, and ultimately replace the second project when you get time down the line
but 4 bullets for projects with 2 bullets for experiences is a bad look
i'd seriously overhaul your exp bullets, try to write a bit more
TA is good to have, with two semesters left you could try to get into research, would be pretty valuable on this resume
overall youre competitive but not coasting, youll get good mid-sized offers if the market doesnt screw you over, getting a shot at big tech will unfortunately be more up to timing and some luck
i mean its not super flashy, its not the sort of work thats gonna like rizz a recruiter
but it is needed work and is one of those skills we all have to kind of develop as we keep working, so not bad imo
Yeah coming to think of it, I could probably phrase it better. It's wasn't simply deleting lines, rather phasing out a redundant feature we didn't use anymore
Agreed. I just added those to put some brand names on my resume for ATS but clearly that's not working
ah, that actually isnt as great then. i had assumed it was like rewriting some functionality for like runtime and reducing the code for it
you can add a concepts list to your technical skills, and just list the areas/focus you want to work in, try to be more specific and targeted for the role you apply to
That was a part of it too. Basically found redundant functionality, replaced to cut down on runtime
i mean you can larp that as optimization ig, i meant improving runtime by upgrading, not just deleting
I forgot to mention, I also have ibm accelerate. People have suggested me to replace that with TA. you think it's better? It's more like a mentorship program than an actual internship
i mean you can include it somewhere, but its not experience
ansys is so tuff
ansys in the south, delsys in north 🔥
