depends if it was a LC hard or not
LC med or hard
it was like a med, but i was missing the last few lines and explained my logic in english
if u explained well and it was just a tough question then theres a chance
could u check ur dms?
bro is soham parekh
they change the questions like every week, it wont be the same
Was it LC tagged or novel
it was a modification of lc tagged
thats chill, good prep tho
isnt palantir tagged like 1 question?
at least in LC
sort by more than 6 months
were u swe or fdse?
soham parekh
who tf is that
Did u mess up because of time?
yeah i ran out before i could finish
it wasnt lru cache was it?
Usually itâs a dictionary question that wants you to find the maximum of something
Or tracking a specific item
For FDSE, Iâve heard people getting these questions
Following
Nah they are not
Im gonna be honest it isnât looking good
They expect you to fully finish the question because the interviewer usually asks you to implement/talk through an edge case
Yeah thatâs what happened to me last year for intern p sure most cases itâs a reject
swe diff for fdse im p sure, swe they r more lc oriented so they gonna throw more curve balls. fdse focuses more on the next round which is the sys design interviews (afaik)
Fdse gives OA? How many problems did you have?
FDSE tech question is data based
SWE tech question is algo
Yes impl heavy
Better know how to filter and clean data
Yeah
Fdse is a scam
Only do it if youâre interested in exiting into pm or something less swe related
Most tech companies know fdse is not actual engineering
Youâre gonna be weaker on your system architecture fundamentals
mine said it would be algo
Switching is hard
Its gonna be a bunch of data youâre gonna have to use a hashmap thats p much 90% of the question
Thatâs what its been unless they changed it
Its consulting
ig with industry shifting fdse is gonna be more valuable than swe ngl
how you deal with customer, how you apply stuff and more...itâs gonna be more valuable in longer run imo
On the technical it says âInterviews generally include data structures and algorithms questions.â For FDSE⊠is it just the OA is more data related?
Yeah I agree with this unless you really wanna dive into technical know howâs
did u do the oa?
No OA
Ah thatâs fair but in theory wouldnât you be exposed to more different architecture doing fdse work
I wouldnât say so FDSE is mostly integrating customer data into Palantir products
So youâll have to build code to modify and clean it to use in the platform
And then build some sort of MVP to present to client
Prev interns
Lots of work with pyspark, pandas, typescript and python
Some SQL
Yeah would not do it over any serious big tech swe offer
Prob only over Amazon
Hmm would you say that the work is more consulty in that matter?
Well yes thats the role
lol fwiw my fde internship was strictly building something entirely new and no DE since i said I didn't want to do it, but yeah the bigger upside of the job is client interaction, don't do it if you want to be strictly SWE
