I recognize you... loved your contributions on Showdown ;) thanks again for the plug
Who pinged me bruh
me when I’m lying
you ain't christopher jeong
i dont know if you are trolling and trying to flex on people with your resume or if you are being genuinely serious but regardless you have a really stacked resume. your in an ivy university, youve interned at jpmorgan as a rising junior, you are currently interning at microsoft and soon to take a coop at circle. this kinda automatically puts you atleast the top 1% of computer science majors, plus youll probably receive return offers for new grad for both circle and microsoft. you probably already knew all of this and im just restating things you know about yourself lol but i can give your assurance you are in an exceedingly good position for new grad. im assuming if your nervous about going new grad you are going to be looking to recruit elsewhere but given you were able to get into microsoft and circle, youll probably pass ATS at any big tech company. as for startups, im not quite fond but i know networking is pretty important so you should start there with linkedin and going to inperson events and just connecting with other people in the space. a few minor touchups on your resume would be to probably have a proper name for your double majors, i was initially confused when i saw Computer Science (BS) and then Mathematics (BS), im assuming theres some name for your program that might get a hit on ats, esp at an ivy. include an end date for your TA position, if its still continuous put present as the end date. for your education section, putting grad date and location in the same line is a bit odd, i think if you keep the format consistent with the rest of the resume itll look better. theres also a lot of wasted space, esp on the first bullet point in the TA section where you give a single word the entire line. the second bullet point in the jpmorgan section has 2 sentences in it, you can prob fit summarize it better. its v clear you know what your doing but your resume can just be a bit overwhelming to look at it with all the walls of text.
please take all my recommendations with a grain of salt though. i am nowhere near as successful as you and i am just some bum who somehow stumbled into a big tech internship and wanted to give you some feeble advice since you asked. you are in a very good place for new grad! whether you plan to return your one of your internships/coops, move to somewhere else in big tech, or go on to join/found a startup, i assure you your in a good position. hopefully that helps or gives you atleast some assurance. best of luck hunting for new grad :)
I recognize you too
i think youll be fine for the most part with this resume, i think you can summarize your experience a lot better to save space and probably put more projects. your projects seem really cool, or atleast the way you word it lol. also if people in this discord are able to recognize you based on your resume, im assuming you are somewhat known in the linkedin space. now is a good time to start reaching out to people and asking for referrals to kind of guarantee you are able to atleast get past ats
Ain’t no way, I’m not famous like him 😭
We go to the same school
do we know each other? or have we just been in classes or sumn
No you just sent me a request on linkedin and I recognize the pfp
assuming you're cracked then, im looking at people to help me found/lead a club in the upcoming semesters
basically making a club to help people prep for quant competitions/roles, and i’ve gotten an offer to fund it from a firm i have connections to
trying to make it viable for math/physics, finance and cs people
but since our uni isnt exactly a feeder to these companies im not sure how much interest there is
oh youre in our school too?
pretty much yeah
not really sure what we have now in terms of really quant oriented stuff, ik we have investment banking and like a quant research club
but i havent heard of any events or anything by either of them so not sure what the deal is
Honestly bro it’s still difficult out there
I hv a very similar resume and I haven’t been getting the callbacks I was hoping for.
Although I don’t go to an ivy so you hv that in ur favor
i have connections to a prof who used to work in BB, and ik three senior people at firms who all seemed open to sponsoring us
