Do you have more coursework than what you have right now?
you only show three classes
~
For your current internship, you don't mention what technology you used to automate test script automation
did you use python, java
i would also use the phrase "test code" instead of "test script" (i think it's more accurate and easier for non technical people to understand imo)
I also think you can take the two points you wrote and combine them (therefore you have space for more things you did during your internship).
~
you mention reducing delivery time by 75%. through agile and scrum, but it doesn't exactly make a lot of sense imo
perhaps it's written oddly
should you show more coursework is that even necessary?
Right now I am using the Web verison to train the models, but I will be writing some python scripts later on. I will definitly add them! TY
i mean im presuming he has more electives
speaking from 2x FAANG not sure if you need more than DSA and some AI/ML class and
yeah he is CS+Linguistics at UIUC
definitely has taken good classes
but idk for faang recruiting if it matters
Should I even keep the courses or remove them overall?
im confused on this too
idt remove them
because i feel some recruiters do look to make sure you have DSA and some major classes
so what are those major classes that recruiters look for
DSA
like is it better to have like 2 lines of classes for your resume
maybe some electives
like other courses like ML, Databases, Systems and Networks?
probably if you're specialized you might need to show that
i don't go to an amazing school and just mention my nromal course work
OS, DSA, Computer Theory
Databases
Web dev
and that works fo rme
do you not mention like any AI or ML related coursework?
and what if you've taken a coursera course like the ML specialization class is that important?
ah are you all embedded software and full stack?
ok im sorta like that too
but at least at internships now even if u were recruited as normal full stack
they make you work on doing RAG or AI agent projects
like a lot of people at say amazon do that right now
some project involving AI agents
and i feel taking a class on Ai agents would be perfect
i heard that
i dont go to a school that has one 😅
if he does has one by all means
yeah UIUc is cracked they have new so many Gen AI classes now
he seems like an AI guy
so he prob should have some
i wonder if his resume is a bit hard to understand for lay people
like recruiters that may not be as versed in technology
he has some rlly good stuff going on
yea this
good point
uiuc has a lot yeah
the dude i met at my internship who had that combo was rlly smart
yeah 😅
still super smart school
doesn't matter
been taking more CS tho
ucla #1 public
and ML
recruiters will glaze
at least you can speak French now /s
lol
LMAO
but yeah i wonder if this resume is hard to digest for lay recruiters @ivory brook
have you had any recruiters read this?
How about the descirptions of the experiences and etc? SHould i be more detailed or simpler to understand
have the recruiter at your company read this do a 1 on 1 @ivory brook
Not this specific one, as I just changed this recently
also @ivory brook have you considered a leadership section is that even worth including on your resume?
THATS A GOOD IDEA
NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT
Thank you
yeah i do it
ofc
i try to make my resume very
digestable for a lay person
but that's my take
I have some leadership, but I am not sure if its worth removing some experience for it
wait so u give ur current recruiter at ur company ur resume and ask them to review?
yep
i'd be like hi i was wondering if i could do a 1 on 1 for a resume review
they'll say yes
do they actually have the time to meet though for that?
yep
at like FAANG?
you end your internship in august right
ah yeah im in the same boat not sure
yeah
you probably have enough time
ye mid august
I heard if you iddn't have much experience, then you shoudl add leadership
im not in FAANG but i imagine they will
no it just seems really weird asking that
but you have experience
but in our case, since we have experience and project. I think we dont have to?
ye
and all the recruiters are remote or in other locations
do i do this virtually
at least at apple idk about other places
yes
email your recruiter imo
that's what i did before and they were down to meet me
virtually
yeah true but i heard google c1 and paypal love seeing leadership on your resume
not sure tho
mine was on the other side of the country
Prob set up teams meeting and etc
dang
im telling you
wait ok did you put like your work in the current internsihp?
the recruiter will tell you
thats weird tho they see that
ye thats what i heard too, like some freshman got into Google STEP program cause of leadership
and Microsoft explore program
ummm no but
i should've probably
so she could critique my resume for the company i was interning @ at the time
but the recruiter will tell you what's wrong or what they don't understand
yeah but he/she also works there so like they see it early then?
and they may think you are switching companies
yeah true i was thinking having a small section
but that's MY experience
not sure though
i worked at a very good culture company
ok yeah very company dependent imo
so
i mean i feel like i dont need a resume reviewer to review my resume anymore
ive gone through that multiple times thats how I landed 2x faang
you have cscd 😅
i just have minor details like about coursework leadership / awards sections
@ivory brook if you work at a bad company maybe don't do it
and specific projects i should try to do
many i just worked at nice companies yk
doesn't the brand name of your company anyways help process you?
ok yeah
and i think having a F500 helped me get into a better program
nah, i think my company is pretty good
like the culture
the recruiter was really nice too
ye i prob will schedule a 1 on 1
(do at your own discretion the quantumfrogg guy has be sweating rn)
(but i also am anxious in general when giving advice
so
maybe it's just my anxiety
lmao yea dont worry
do at your own discretion)
i do think its a good idea
i sweat hard when i do resume reviews here
LMAOOO
because im always scared i give bad advice
nah im all good
like u should do it
ive done multiple resume reviews that the thing
Any other advice for my resume tho? or overall is it good?
i dont think i needa review my resume anymore with brand name
like they dont gaf once you have experience
recruiters are lazy tahts why
ask the recruiter what doesn't make sense (what they don't understand)
yeah its good
Thx alot guys
you guys applying fall internship or nah?
on the topic on coursework btw
like is it good to have 2 line?
i did it for a while
if you can get three it's better
lets say like this
idt anything wrong with that
esp if you want to show the company you have exp in something special they're recruiting for
but that's also my tinfoil hat take
esp
since you're going to big tech which has a lot of diff teams
looking for different things
knock on wood
i get it
i finally made it so
u got this!
can't fumble now
i got rejected by this company last yr
Oooof
yeah
knock on wood
did you apply cold or referral?
you too bro
so the way it works there is
you want to go to one of their events
or
one of their interview prep series
so i went to one
and i knew a recruiter from last yr when i got rejected
so i emailed him and he got me my first round
and then i did the whole series
How were the technicals
Oooof
ye i was checking out that company early spring, forgot if i applied
so the time goes by quick even if you know the problem
but saw the $ was really good
im going because it's in my city
better get that bag
tyty
u2
Hope I helped somewhat
