Basically, we looked at how long it took us to get paged after a P1 error: before OpenTelemetry it was about 12 minutes on average from failure to alert, and once we added spans and hooked up Prometheus/Grafana it dropped to around 2 minutes—so (12 min – 2 min) / 12 min × 100 ≈ 83%.
