id recommend doing a project w a solid backend framework like spring boot or express

and a sql database like postgres or mysql. i feel like a lot of postings esp w swe usually require one of those

also imo having your technical skills section at the bottom as that seems to be a bit more common, but not sure if that has a big impact

i mean tbh they still have some good exp w research so i wouldnt say theyre cooked

if they can get some solid projects out they should be okay

Research is good if u r aiming for ai labs like oai or cohere or something like that, it also useful for quant. Big tech it don't really matter imo. I think the one here is alr but could probably be more detailed

But I’ve never had one so idk

Yeah it not imo, but it depends on ur goal tbh like u want do academics/become a applied scientist or just focus on career
