I prefer not to bold but I understand why people do it
but if you are doing it do this
theres a ton of fluff ngl
this is called SEO
this is a bunch of fluff that adds little to no value to ur resume, u should cut down on some of it and make the bullets for ur SWE internship more descriptive/add more bullets for that or add a technical project
this is pretty useless too, elaborate more on what the project actually does/how you achieved it technically
your bullets should be in this format:
- high level overview of your intern project that even a recruiter will understand, maybe name dropping some technologies you used without going too in depth or technical
- accomplished X (deliverable) as measured by Y (numerical metric) by doing Z (technical skills/implementation details)
- accomplished X (deliverable) as measured by Y (numerical metric) by doing Z (technical skills/implementation details)
- (optional, if you want more bullets for an experience) accomplished X (deliverable) as measured by Y (numerical metric) by doing Z (technical skills/implementation details)
you should use jakes and overleaf. the template you have isn't bad at all, but overleaf is easier to version and easier to customize your format. tool worth learning
do not put the links to the project like that. never seen it done like that. hyperlink them in your bullet point. like you can underline and bold "open source software" and that leads to the link. nobody is going to take the time to copy paste that long ass link
also everything that @quiet zenith said^^. you have a TON of fluff
gotcha, still the format is weird
you should also make the effort to quantify more stuff. your points for your internship are good. they show impact, but everything else is lacking. google XYZ method will help with that
that makes sense now that you say it. you should just whip up some new projects during the summer. doesnt have to be a huge time commitment and you can fill them with tons of keywords for whatever area in swe you're targeting
also, if you could join some club or a research lab or team at your uni, that would be really good to replace that last experience and get something more recent on there. as long as what you do is semi-production grade and you can make it sound impactful
completely agree
experience > projects
yeah if you don't have anything paid then i dont see why not
just balance that with other interview prep and youll be chillin
it'll be better than you spending that time on bs projects
no worries good luck!
So I heard you go to Texas A&M
🤔
But u aren’t in any of the club discords
Very interesting
Oh
💀
No way Jake’s template has a Texas A&M at the top
Ain’t no way
people usually put company at top if they worked at somewhere with name value
but tbh u should just always do it
i thought it was maybe from mine because ive posted it here i think and did undergrad research lol
U from A&M?
yeah
What year
ill dm
gig 'em lol
