Background: I'm a Junior CS student, and love full-stack, computer vision, systems, and robotics
Samsara - Samsara seems like a really cool place to work, and they mentioned they're revamping their intern program to where rather than being given a project, you're given a client problem, and fully design, build, deploy a solution by end of summer (with mentorship). You also have project flexibility so I'll get to choose what I want to work on, and they mentioned that they're goal is to give you a chance to grow in whatever career track you're looking for, so if you don't like your project, you can ask to switch. Full time for SWEs is $189k according to levels.fyi
- $52/hr, $5k housing stipend, $700 flight stipend; San Francisco, CA
Figure.ai - Figure is a company I've been eyeing for a while, especially being someone who really wants to go into robotics long-term. I feel like it could be a good career opportunity to work at a cutting edge robotics company and maybe make it easier to switch to a perception/computer vision/AI role in the company if I already work there vs. applying from outside. Also, they're pre-IPO, so might be worth trying to get that full-time offer for the stock. However, they pay interns a bit less, and don't provide travel stipend, and I'd be a Test Automation engineer rather than a Full-stack or Computer Vision engineer, which I may get the chance to be at Samsara. Test Automation engineering doesn't seem so bad though, its an embedded systems role and I'm sure I'll learn a lot working there as well. levels.fyi doesn't have a full time pay listed for Figure.ai
- $45/hr, $5k housing + travel/flight stipend, free shuttle to work (I'll be staying in SF so about an hour commute); Sunnyvale, CA
