I'd remove anything non-tech related since you already have technical experience

#

so like "Builder" and "Community Service"

#

if you want to keep the titles, put them all as one line under education, subsection "leadership/extracurricular" or smt

#

Put more frameworks into skills and more classes

#

also personal opinion, but I'd remove any political affiliation from the resume (this also goes for religion and maybe identity too). it doesn't matter which party it's supporting, but obviously statistically speaking, about half the recruiters support one side and the other half support the other side so ur opening urself up to unnecessary bias from half the applications you send

Yeah I was given this advice as well and it will be a factor moving forward. I'm just not sure how to structure the role to offer enough insight without sacrificing the risk of being politically affiliated

#

i see, yeah i mean theres nothing wrong with it if its the company itself

#

like you worked directly for the party?

#

otherwise i just said it here bc you wrote "contracted to"

faint grail
#

Yes, currently on tour with them. I am not otherwise involved in the political space whatsoever

#

so I'm not sure how to structure

barren urchin
#

like just list [Big Company] and not the "contracted to" part?

faint grail
#

Got it

#

put one line for Awards

#

and one for Leadership

#

affiliated with uni

#

uh things from high school aren't as relevant

#

the FIBA thing is pretty impressive tho, maybe keep that one

#

last point about ur resume overall, metrics look good but try to include more explicit programming/software skills in your bullet points

faint grail
#

In terms of projects, should I trim down on the quantity?

#

Like i'm not delusional enough to think that most of them are past the very beginner and elementary phase

barren urchin
#

i think you have room for all 3

#

if you keep the Description and Key Features to one line per project

#

eh maybe rock paper scissors is not necessary

faint grail
#

got it. And for the most recent work experience entry is it okay to have 5 bullet points? I don't want to overdo it but there was a lot of substance in the role and I don't want to sell it short

when recruiters visually glance at your resume, they will kind of allocate the importance relative to the amount of space you dedicate to it

So something like this

HUT / HUNGRI (FLOWBOAT), Waterloo, ON Oct 2023 – May 2024
Builder
Coordinated two teams of six students, delegating tasks and ensuring deliverables were completed 50% faster
Designed prototypes for a web application for healthy growing kits to inspire classrooms to take up gardening, sparking interest from local school boards (WRDSB) in adopting the service

Should be reduced to an entry like

Relevant Coursework: Data Structures & Algorithms, Software Engineering, Database Systems, Networking, Web Development
Awards: Foresters Financial Scholarship (2024-2025), U20 FIBA U18 European Basketball Champions (Bronze Medalist)
Leadership/Extracurricular: HackWestern (Developer), Flowboat (Builder), Western Tech For Social Impact (Developer & First Year Representative)

All near the top section where I already have relavent coursework

#

If i am understanding correctly?

barren urchin
#

nice, that looks good

#

how much space do you have?

faint grail
#

Space?

#

This is the Current set up now
