  1. what happens when people buy into the idea that if they put in effort they will "make it" but time after time, they fail and they fail? they will start doubting themselves when efforts don't translate into results as when they buy into shit like "you can do anything you can set your mind to", they will falsely attribute the lack of results to themselves

yea my main point is just that luck significantly influences outcome so just realize that reality is nuanced and if you put in a lot of effort and don't get much results then don't think it's because you're not cut out for it and be discouraged
