#!process is it a good idea to honestly

if you want the company to speed up the process then yeah
otherwise just say you have upcoming finals but that this is your top choice
usually doesnt help me
unless ur super cracked and need fast process, its better EV to just accept other offers and renege when the time comes
not our fault that system makes this the easier option imo
Wanted to understand this doesn't work as a negative though right? Would this result in them revoking the offer or something?
u got an offer already?
why would they be asking this then
Nah I don't have an offer
But they asked this in an HR call
They didn't mention 'offer' during the call
ok yea thats pretty standard. in my experience it has had a net negative effect for me, as they either become less interested in you as a candidate (perhaps due to their assumption that you have other options) or that there is no chance theyd be able to fit to your time constraints and so its easier to go with other flexible candidates
if its like sep-oct and ur a cracked person with like an offer u need to sign, i think it makes sense. this late tho, its employers game to play not employee's
so thats why i say leave it as flexible for them as possible
even if u have another deadline
Although in my case I just told them I interviewed recently for XYZ company, but I haven't heard back yet and you (the HR company) is my priority
keep it at that for sure
one good company, i was waiting a few weeks on a response, told them i have competing offer, they told me they wont have a decision by then, and then never got back to me again lol
thats a blend of factors but like it definitely didnt help and i now realize it wasnt my position to tell them about the competing offer
Mathworks summer, had my HR call yesterday waiting for an offer
Thant makes sense
Although it's so f'ed up
