same thing happened to me interviewer thought my correct solution was wrong and i got rejected

i vaguely remembered the other solution and could tell she was heavily nudging me toward it, she kind of wanted me to scrap my way of thinking and think of it in the different way

i didn’t know how to defend my solution without revealing that i just straight up did the problem before and i figured i would just be able to remember the other one through her hints
