What are career goals?
Where do you see yourself
That defines this entire thing
Oh wait qt
Nvm
Who sign your aws offer letter?
Personally I would do amazon
Idk how prestigous bank quant are compared to quant firms tho tbh
its not but ik gs quant pipeline to hella qt places
but same with zon
i would in this case take the most versatile one
you need something that also allows you to interview for q swe
ik thats not what you want
but you need to get a wider range for the resume
so if zon is a cpp team
take zon
im preffering zon just slightly more in this case
but tell me schol tier
because if its t10 then take zon and dont look back
I think AWS is more verstaile than gs. Like gs is a bank that fluctuates, but AWS ain't going anywhere ever
yh zon
if you were no name school case couldve been made maybe
doesnt matter take zon and fucking grind RO
just in case
On the versatility note is it easier to go from gs to tech or the other way around?
Do you know if he's gonna be your manager
From what I saw the Goldman role is pretty comparable to quant dev too, would that change anything you think?
nah ik the goldman role p well
i interviewed for it myself
but idk i think zon is better her if yorue t10
only reason i wouldve said gs would be for signal if you were from nonae
school
I see thanks for the insight
Why would gs be a signal from no name instead of zon?
cuz zon hires everyone
from all schools
i mean
gs quant shows you know a modicum of math
and have an iq above 100
and arent just a leetcode monkey
That makes sense yea
But in genl zon is still perceived better tho correct
Nah only research in academic setting
gs quant strat is probably the best in banking
after a few years you can lateral into hft
