30 minutes of coding

they asked me given a string, return the first character that does NOT have duplicates

i solved it in 5 minutes with O(N) time and space, and then they told me to optimize it ☹️

i lowkey couldnt do it so i had to get hella hints from interviewer but then once he told me i had to use a queue i was able to solve it fully

it made it one pass but with space sacrifice

idk i brought that up actually and he said to not use that

i dont understand the point of the queue vs just iterating through the chars in the string

oh actually queue is O(26) second pass

but string is O(N)

no if you use queue you just go through the chars in the queue instead of the string in the second pass

but you always need a pass to count number of chars with a dict
