Heyy, overall your structure is good. Some things I would note are :
-
Add some quantifiable metrics, like in your experience for the bullet points add in hw many students you assisted etc. Try to look up google did x with y resulting in z format. I think its called xyz format for resumes
-
I think some of the dates are not aligned correctly on the right hand side. Make sure formatting is clean and consistent
Alright, I really appreciate it.
What do you think about the contents like to projects and all that. Be transparent idm it.
I think just like proofread with capitalizaton and all that. For projects I think these are pretty decent ones, if you wanted to add 1 more that would be good. I think you should also fix spacing between headings and text. Also the white space on right hand side seems alot to me
Also for projects I think you should again add more quantiative metrics
How do you think I could fix the white space? Do you think the content in terms of Expereince and projects alone could get me an interview.
Again dont need to sugercoat, I need to hear what needs to b heard.
Ok so idrk about getting the interviews . But im trying to look at ur resume as a recruiter, and yk the market is crazy flooded rn, and I feel like you got to beef up your resume abit more prob with more projects. Like its not something easy to explain but I think adding more metrics and fixing formatting will help with that firstly
Nah that was really beneficial. Thank you for your help
oh also for whitespace, try to utilize jakes resume or i can send this word resume pdf i found
It had minimal white space
i'm glad it helped!
I would really appreciate that, I was tryna do it manually using latex this whole time 😭
Also, any more feedback from anyone would be much appreciated , thank you
I think some of your bullet points are way too long to comprehend for a quick review. try to make it max 1 + 1/2 line.
If targeting for tech roles, I advise you to add some language/technology in your bullets.
Fake it till you make it
Valid, that makes a lot of sense. Imma implement more tech/languages into the points and summarize it a little bit more.
Do you think the formatting and how it looks is good or does it need more work?
Also, I would like to ask about the ATS scan. Because I feel like some of my resumes dont get passed it 😭 . What do ATS scans look for?
I think you should put skills between education and experience
I commented previously based on how a recruiter. Not sure about the ATS, since it highly depends on the job description. Try to include as many frameworks/technologies in the resume
Instead of online location, you should put remote
and try to format it towards the locations and date towards the right side of the page a bit more
Yep just corrected all those formatting issues. Will try to implement more frameworks/tech into my bullet points for projs and experience
Also what are your thoughts on using AI to generate some valid resume points. Can recruiters track that?
I often use it to help structure my points
Here I have updated a few things, I am still using my resume format. And will soon also use Jake's resume and decide which I might go with. Please critique and lmk if there are any red flags.
Yes . You may use it to modify your bullet point. From what I see, it would be impossible to track if a bullet is AI generated if you use it to correct/modify your points. In the end, you have to justify your bullet point and explain the stuff you did if asked in an interview
I see, that makes sense. I don't got issues w explaining the stuff. It's jus that AI helps better structure my points so I b using it.
