# crystal kettle but for swe 2, how hard were the LC

for phone it was horrible. got asked some question abt version management that required knowing union find to get optimal soln in 45 mins. its been 2 yrs since i last studied that and i personally think it required "esoteric knowledge"

i was lucky a staff eng asked me the question. he himself said that of the ppl he asked this question to, only 2 got optimal soln

there was a 2nd part but i barely got 1st part working. still moved forward

system design went ok (got asked "design a service that searches for restaurants in a user's location - basic uber eats search)

behavioral interview was so spicy. the interviewer GRILLED down to like nitty gritty detail of what i said. didn't know the answer to a few of them, but boy it sorta felt like an interrogation

first technical coding for onsite:

implement 3 functions to consume ad event object and identify clicks/impression counts for given ad and if an ad had X impressions without click over Y days rolling window

#

very fair problem and not too bad

2nd coding q:
You are given a list of equations and values. Nodes represent verticss. Given a list of queries, output the answer. if answer doesnt exist return -1

#

not too bad but there were followups like "if you had a million queries, how would you optimize on the search"
