i am a domestic applicant who procrastinated his way out of a spot in new york where i live, but am very happy to go to menlo park

applied after email from early-stage recruiter (initials RC) with OA invitation 10/2
took OA 10/19 (received extension as i was seriously ill at the time)

transferred to recruiter TO and invited for final interview 10/22
interviewed 11/18

[‘isIntern’ tag on careers webpage changed to ‘true’ around 12/6]
verbal offer received on 12/9
written offer arriving by 12/13

OA: scored 2.5-3/4 at best

interview: one LC tagged (not very frequent tho i didnt do it) and one i think basically variation of LC tagged (this tagged i did do) iirc

i solved both questions optimally in python with requests to clarify the problem, examples/dry-runs/edge cases, data structures/algorithms used, time and space complexity, comments along the way to keep track of my code’s functionality while i was explaining

no followups from him except for a case that revealed an accidental extra indentation on a small code block, which i fixed immediately

5 minute introduction, 15 minutes question 1, 15 minutes question 2, 5 minutes closing remarks / asking more about bro’s role at meta lol

it'll be alright, i think if your performance got you rejected, you'd have gotten rejected by now
