new grad?
no, 1yoe. there is no channel for full time
bro finally escaped veeva
yeah but who knows if I will accept it
Maybe I'll get something better
if i search a bit more
Job market is opening up maybe?
I feel like this is early pickings
how successful have you been with 1 YOE in terms of callbacks?
This is literally the only company that has called me back in the past 3 months
But also I've only applied to high tier companies
No time to waste on junk
Geico soured me on that. Thier engineer literally didn't understand big O for the problem so marked me as wrong even though it was right
thats really unlucky
I just think the small companies have gotten so full of themselves, that they put random barriers up and act like they're special. But legit tech companies are better at recognizing talent. Mostly because the people interviewing you are also better engineers
honestly feel like its luck tbh
I had an interview with small company last week and they were chill
amazon was 🤮
Nah I don't think so. I did 1 easy question that I knew the exact answer for Geico and got rejected. Did 3 mediums I've never seen for Snap and got offer.
Yeah honestly, I feel like I would get a mental health disorder if I joined amazon
Like, more so than I already do 🤪
what year did you grad?
23
whats your prev experience like?
How’s Veeva? I heard they have good wlb!
😢what happened.
ceo read a reddit post that said we have good work life balance and decided we are lazy so makes everyone work long hours
What??? R u serious?
Yes
😭😭😭 it used to be my “dream company” because of the good wlb i heard about
That's why I joined
According to people who are there, it used to be fine in 2021
But as soon as market went for a down turn
they decided to take advantage
😢😢 omg. I just knew they lowered the base salary when market gets bad. But didn’t know they even made people work long hours now…
Yeah it's unfortunate. I would say you work as hard as a startup, but get paid whatever Amazon was paying 5 years ago (behind market rate).
hey I got rejected from snap after solving the base problem + most followups in each round. How was your performance? Just curious what the bar is for getting an offer
Which once
I am having hard time getting calls
SEP
I dont think the position even open lol
I applied early
like two months ago
3 of 3 problems completed
Q1, finished barely and had 0 time to ask questions
Q2, I got the core of the question explained verbally within 5 minutes, so he ramped up difficulty. We basically just did a bunch of verbal back and forth and basic coding. I think this was actually a very good performance because I demonstrated a lot of CS knowledge
Q3, with the manager I got it done. Little bit of duplicated code that I wanted to clean up, but since it was working the interviewer (a manager) wanted to spend a longer time on behavioral
Overall I would give myself an A minus for my performance. Pretty proud of it since its the first interview I've done in a long time
So do you think they rejected you becus they think tht your big O answer was wrong?
