I don't know how to rate myself, I completed the code on time and answered all followups. told complexities and checked answers later they were alright

I have one theory, the thing is they were only hiring for YouTube team so only a limited set of people, plus i'm an international student so they need to sponsor me. maybe they thought to save some bucks and hire someone who doesn't need sponsorship

When I mentioned to my rec that I’m on opt, she asked me how much time I have left on it still.

This was way before scheduling the interview.

I did that, I told them that I am on OPT and have the next two years that would be covered by the stem extension when they reached out to me first to confirm a few things (the checklist)

they didnt ask how much time I have left though lol
