@chrome walrus I got dp on graph, hard question. I was communicative the whole time, etc. But I was able to do it suboptimally. Interviewer didnt ask for better or anything. Had like 5-10 minutes before he said you can ask me questions. I asked for any feedback, he said i could split things into diff functions. Which is all he said. He talked for like 25 minutes after exceeding his time.
What other criteria would you look at
You’re gonna hate this answer but yeah it depends. Cuz suboptimal on one question could be L3 level if the question is a L3-5 question but for another question it could be lean no hire if it’s a L3/4 focused question
If you’re communicative that’s a good sign, splitting into different functions is more like programming criteria than algos but solving suboptimally in terms of time / space complexity would be considered in algos
Both are evaluated
I am l3, i gave suboptimal for a hard dp on graph question. Like objectively. I dont know what criteria would be for l3/l4 focused question
No what I’m saying is internally there are questions that are only L3, L3-4 or L3-5
uhuh
If it’s a question that is L3-5 then suboptimal might be still a lean hire for L3
But if it’s only L3 or L3-4 it might be a lean no hire
Again it depends on the question, Google doesn’t use lc difficulties on the question bank, only levels
You're right
What do you consider suboptiumal btw. In one of my interviews, the interview said you dont need to get a optimal solution even tho I did. so Idk.
Would DP on graph (lc hard) be l3 level?
like for example
