Redmond?
What’s your graduation year and resume
congrats! what was your interview structure
is this the fullstack role? also what was your interview like? and when did you do it?
Yes
Next year, also my resume is not that good tbh lol.
Three 1 hour coding rounds, the first 15 minutes were behavorial
Yes it's for the full stack role. I took the VO interviews on 10/1
Yeah I would say they were all medium difiiculty. Two rounds were 1 question with follow ups, the third one was one question only since the behavorial went on longer than 15 min
do you know what team your interviewers are in?
I don't remember tbh lol.
Congrats, timeline?
lol all good tyty
How do you think the interview went for you performance wise?
I don't remember when I applied but recruiter reached out about the OA on 08/27. Received the assessment the same day. Heard back on 09/09 that I would move on to the VO. Took VO on 10/01 and received the offer yesterday, 10/08
I feel like I did really well on every round. The interviewers were satisfied with my answers. Granted, I did practice a lot and failed a bunch of interviews as well lol.
nice
how do the follow ups work, like how do u know how many follow ups u will have, just wanna know how to pace myself
There was still time remaining after solving the question. One of the follow ups was how can I make it more efficient. On another round the follow up was building off the algorithm I had to take into account for another scenario. Might be a good idea to ask the interviewer ahead of time
should i phrase it like “before we start , i was wondering if we will be having follow up questions or additional questions so that i can better manage my time”
Tc n split?
if you dont mind, for the 3 questions, which lc patterns were they asking for? it's understandable if you dont want to say
Yeah that's good 👍
Design, reg exp matching, and string manipulation
sys dsign or OOD?
OOD, like the questions you see on LC, design linked list as an example
ho long did u take for technical also how was ur interview split up, like firts 15 behavorial, rest LC and 5 mins for questions
Not sure i understand your first question and yes that's how it was split up.
did you ever finish a technical with ample amount of time, also for these technicals do the interviewers chime in a lot to ask questions about the code or is it mostly you talking and explaining
oh wtf they asked you for regex? gg
Oh, yeah enough for them to ask a follow up on two rounds. The other round I took longer so there was no follow up. And yes they do chime in a lot to ask about what you're doing and why so it's best to talk through all of your thoughts so that your approach is clear and they understand and get the go ahead before you start coding.
Yes he said it was a real problem he had solved lol
do u rmmbr what typee of follow ups u had for ur questions
How to make it more efficient and implement it , and on the other round just gave me more constraints so had to adjust the algorithm to adhere to those constraints
also sorry last q, but in the prep vids they said not to write pseudo code, but is it bad to write pseudo code before we actually code or
I didn't i said my approach out loud and asked for confirmation to then proceed. I think it's company/interviewer dependent so doesn't hurt to ask them if that is fine or not
just gotta pray i don’t get curveballs like that
In case like this, I explained that it can be solved with dp but asked if it was okay to do it recursively, I'm grateful he said yes otherwise I'd of been cooked lol
wait so you were implementing regex?
i thought the problem was to use regex to solve it
dang that’s a lc hard
gg
It was just two cases so not too bad also he was very inquisitive about my approach which also helped guide me to my solution bc it helped correct myself. He was helpful
where did your intern?
yeah it’s just . and * but still
