@low slate when did you get the interview invite for final?
i need ur magic touch bro
fr? pretty weird of them to send interview invites on a sunday
yea I was caught off guard
Prev exp?
2x insurance but i have some exp with Azure/msft services so idrk if that helped
No
It's Redmond sorry @tight pendant
congrats
ez dub
Is Microsoft final easy?
any suggestions on what to study
Rng?
interview dependent from what i've heard
go though the tagged problems on LC, msft usually only asks easy/med
good luck
I’ve got my final tomorrow so I can tell you how it goes
Ping me after like 5 pm
bet thanks man
From what most of the people I’ve spoken to (prev Microsoft interns) they said easy medium question, the biggest thing they care about it understanding how you think, so treat it more like teaching them how to solve the problem then just solving it ,
Recruiter initials?
Yeah I am
gotcha
@low slate 2 rounds, each interview will prob do a coding question + behavioural
I’d focus on being comfortable with all popular DS&A topics such as linked lists; strings, arrays, trees, sorting algorithms, etc. DP graphs are unlikely then again better safe than sorry if you have the time.
Learn the Microsoft values, and connect them to ur resume/ past experiences.
Have stories that map to each value is a tip
I wouldn’t focus on tagged imo since people from ur org volunteer to interview interns and they decide questions, so it’s really just org dependent and who is doing interviews that year.
Hope that helps best of luck, if you got any more questions feel free to dm me ( just ping when you dm cuz I’ll prob forget to check otherwise).
@low slate told you something would work out 🙏🏽
You won’t get headcounted for atlassian LMAO
But LinkedIn is easily best one but to rate is rough
do yk how the final is
Messages from past interns :
i did the final last year
a pretty good (fun) question they asked me was to find the connection distance from two people
think about it a little more because the linkedin 1st, 2nd, or 3rd friends connections are just one big graph DSA they have implemented on their codebase which was nice to learn from an engineer
From soomeone else
Also I’ve seen like tree/ graph problems bent given
which isn’t too bad
Here’s another one
The OA was 1 lc med, 1 lc hard
Next was a 20 min phone screen, they asked like why linkedin, what i look for in a internship, on campus involvment. At the end of the call they scheduled my final rd
Final rd was 1 45 min behavioral and 1 45 min technical, technical was 1 easy tree problem and 1 med set/hashmap prob
OA was also lc med, lc hard... Strings I think
1 hr behavioral, 1 hr technical, technical was an easy(?) HashMap problem
Hope this helps
@low slate
@tribal tartan
damn so it looks hella random
You can prob try tagged on leetcode?
🫡🫡
Thanks
Sure
yea a prev intern sent me a list that he said was very commonly asked from the tagged but there weren't as many graph problems
Mainly meds and some hards
But I hear like a lot of different things from everyone I ask about the final so idek what to believe
Hmm okay I’ll have to check out tagged
Check dm I'll show u what I got sent
Yeah
damn
Not there were 2 other small ones
But those were code analysis
so
And they were pretty easy
@cunning pewter how many interviewers interviewed you? just one?
2
1 for technical 1 for behavioural
Were the behavioral questions just your generic tell me about yourself, why microsoft, biggest strength, etc?
Also, were the interviewers generally pretty chill during the interview?
Technical one seemed like he was in a rush
But the behavioural one was pretty chill
It was mostly resume grilling
She seemed particularly interested in one of my past experiences
Thank you for the info, I appreciate it. I have my final tomorrow and freaking out right now.
Good luck 🫡🫡
You get any Microsoft Portal changes yet?
Yeah 😔I got rejected
Damn I’m sorry, what do you think went wrong? Did you complete both technical questions?
how'd ur final go?
I believe it went really well, I personally think it did but you never know. I answered both technical questions completely and behavioral questions were straight forward.
can I dm
