C++ SWe
t10?
Yea
it was just a GCA right
big midwest feeder at least
custom one i think
No
really last year was like custom questions
This year was gca
Was the gca forced to be c++?
It’s just a gca forced to be in c++
So I can’t send them my python 600 😭
We are for cs
It’s says in the recruiter email it must be done in c++
yes
its not forced tho
it let me submit a non-c++ gca
did i submit it? no
could i if i wanted? yes
Correct the gca doesn’t force it but HRT will ignore it
yeah
prolly
once again - not a good idea but its doable
“Note: The test must be completed in C++, and other languages will not be accepted.”
Ya
Uiuc?
I dont think that is how t10 works, my school (Purdue and VT) are both t5 in ECE iirc, but they are still considered t50 not t5.
We are target school for quant
ok that is a thing
we are target school for US govt
do u usually get callbacks from quant firms?
Yes I’ve interviewed at many
also have qswe experience
this is lwk such a game changer
i dont have any and ive been getting barely any callbacjs
for new grad
School is a big part. I had interviews at 6+ firms last year without any qswe experience based on school
for intern right
Ya
100% i agree
I know plenty of people without it that go to umich getting plenty of quant interviews for new grad
but i interviewed at imc for example
and they grilled me abt the lack of financial experience on my resume
and how most of my other processes were tech
Oh lol
ye
Imc is hiring a lot of external new grads this year
Both
hmm interesting
I think over half the new grad class is going to be external
Around 30
Yes
but compared to any tech company
Normally it’s like 5
yeah
yea true
There were only 30 interns
About
oh hm i see
Like the only cohorts larger were optiver with 35 and probably js and citadel
