any help is greatly appreciated <3. I started CS as a sophomore (rising jr now) so feeling a bit nervous.
Roles: ML, SWE, Hardware Tech, PM in that order of preference.

is that not lying?

#

I will change everything else, thanks... the advice is very helpful.

#

I see, this could be a problem

#

The majority of the work I did was not tech-related though (30-70 split)... I just selected the most relevant bullet points to SWE from a previous resume. I was still spending a lot of time on services, marketing, hr, courses, fundraising, etc.

#

& I did also answer to a board of directors

#

albiet the board was still mostly students

#

I guess i'm just having trouble trying to phrase this point correctly

@quiet tree would you still change it given the context above? My options are change title, keep as is, or add more bullet points to represent full scope of what I did.

#

No more pings after this I swear, it's just that I'm trying to get back to a connection who asked for my resume

#

hi where can i get this template

timber spire
#

I wouldn’t say massive but p big? A little over $1m in fundraising/grants over two years, and like 98,000 students helped (for which we have the receipts for), ~200,000 following between different media.

The only thing is the average student probably only spent ~1 hour with us.

The whole thing was made possible only cus of IT, so a large amt of effort by me was put there. However, I acted more like a CTO than someone directly involved with day-to-day

#

To be honest i would love to put “SWE Lead” there cus it’s better for SWE but it’s just kinda not true. Considering I actually had a SWE lead on the team who was much better at CS than I was back then

#

My overall trajectory was marketing —> operating officer —> CEO as well which makes it even less convincing cus I was never at any point in the tech dept

timber spire
#

But Jake’s resume template is just as gkod

#

It’s just frustrating cus it all sounds so unbelievable on a resume … hell I wouldn’t believe

timber spire
#

I guess I have three main options

  1. Lie and just say I did SWE stuff
  2. Keep as is
  3. Add in the bullet points w/ metrics since I have like 8 lines of whitespace to work with
#

Ig i could also change title to "managing director" to be a bit more humble?

I say add the metrics. Shows you can lead a team along side working with technical. It'd be something you can bring up in the interview if asked about as well. If you can back it up, add it to the resume and be proud of the accomplishment

#

Your resume definitely screams ML.

Your relevant course work is a little long so might want to tailor towards application.
Interests is an interesting choice specially with poker in there but to each their own.
I see some cloud technologies in the skills section but mentioned nowhere in work experience or personal projects.

Don't be nervous, your resume is pretty alright. Try applying and see how it goes after some changes

icic. I already calmed down on course work section, removed languages (will add back in when/if I apply tt).

#

Should I put CEO under like "Volunteering" or something?

#

what do you mean "a lot of your last bullet points are weak"?

#

like the last bullet point in every resume item or?

timber spire
#

This is what it looks like now
which sections last bullet points are weak?
I assume SWE | small company is, but 10x inference speed improvement, and 77.58% performance improvement over previous is good to know?
I guess 1-2m impressions under MD is also eh

#

but still one sentence of maximum 2 lines per bullet point?

#

Or can I do two sentences of maximum 2 lines?

#

icic

#

okay, thank you so much <333. I will be making seperate SWE and ML resumes, though my SWE experience is definitely more limited so I'll probably grind out a project in the next month

timber spire
#

Makes sense, would you suggest rewriting current bullet points to be more SWE-focused then? (for SWE jobs)

#

Tbh I also take an ML job over SWE job any day
