lmaooo
Plz dude chill the fk out. You are more than good enough
Just enjoy your summer
I’m in my third year and ur resume prob better than mine
If u want something, change ur grad date to 2027
For summer 2025
Not “ethical” but who gives a shit we need employment
Unless ur applying to companies that require transcript, just lie about ur grad date
Google asks for transcript I’m pretty sure so just apply to their STEP program
Damn u applied to 40 places alr? We just graduated high school
Gotchu
Yea I think u will be fine this app cycle lol
A resume doesn't get much better than this for a freshman
Just wait for actual freshman/soph positions to open up in August-septembet imo
Enjoy js for now
This resume prob better than like 90% of upperclass people so yeah ur good
take a chill pill bruda
u can pull the strat of saying you're a sophomore then when its time to graduate say "I'm doing a masters degree so it'll be one more year" lmfao
you landed amp, that's a w
I got to final interview and didn't get it 💀
if you can pick up a position at columbia like TA you might want to drop mathcounts
but the research experience is pretty cracked
huh
fair point, I hate my skill issues as well 😭
yeah
idk if you did dev stuff that might still be more relevant than research
and from what I know AMP is literally just college classes + yap
maybe but they don't really have any serious criteria
most people won't end up getting quant out of AMP
yeah
a lot of them end up at big tech but they mostly pick people with good past experience so it's just self-selection
if someone was sweating in high school, they will keep sweating in college
bro acting like he didn't intern at places in hs
that's fair
a lot of people in hs are starting to try research cause of college apps
yeah, I heard of people joining like one or two research programs but it's not popular
known companies >>>>> startups >> nothing
a lot of fake startups exist that give internships now
so credibility is going down
Radical AI forges a path for global potential through AI, focusing on open-source education and career tools. Our lab fosters growth and learning, tackling educational challenges and enabling worldwide access.
they are developing some chatgpt type thing and hired "interns" for it
who pay a small fee to particpate
they have 100s of people in this
fake companies are making more money than cs majors
tbh people make the resume bullets sound so nice that this might even be ok
'developed and deployed full stack react applications'
if people don't know that it is a scam then it just is gonna look like a normal startup
How r u dooming this hard w thus
Jfc what did you guys go through in highschool
Just relax
Good resume and great experience @hexed flint . Unfortunately won’t get appreciated by most firms since you’re class of ‘28 and they can’t hire you after your internship. My advice would be to leverage the Columbia network hard to work at one of their startups/firms. Once you get to an interview I have the feeling you’ll do well, and you’ll certainly impress alumni, but most recruiters will immediately reject due to the year.
The resume is fine but won’t work as well for Swe (since there’s not too much Swe on it), but that’ll get fixed over the next few years
I think you’d be a very good fit for a solid startup, I.e your research looks relevant to Orchard Robotics and many other firms
you either doom now or get doomed later
Columbia will likely have a startup immersion program and, when you get campus, maybe other people will have an idea of what’s around
just lyk the more annoying u are the less ppl are gonna want to help you
I get ur a freshman and ur stressed but ain’t no use crying like this. Nobody is entitled to help you in any way shape or form, and you’re not entitled to help. Anyone who decides to help you is doing it out of good will
but but but
IM COOKED
tough shit
Wait I can’t tell if cat is trolling lol
Cat’s either the funniest dude on earth or the most oblivious
Peak humor lmfao
Is your family life ok
THIS DUDE HAA JANE street
He could have a racial slur on his resume and still land a good internship
on my resume i separate tech and skills into their own section but idt it matters too much?
maybe also add a concept section just to hit more keywords
i also j noticed theres a good amount of white space unused
like you have bullet pts that span 2 lines but the second line doesnt fully fill the second line
so ig try to lengthen those
and add keywords there too lol
need to keywordmaxx
yea like frameworks and stuff too
simplify lists some keywords when u apply so look through those and see what u can put on
as for this
i mean you can technically grad in 3 years
either u have enough creds coming in to do that
or you just overload for some semesters
yea dont worry about it
cause technically u can graduate in that time frame
ur gpa may not be as high as it could be if u hypothetically did that and took on a large courseload but its possible lol
idt you should feel bad abt it either if that is bothering u
honestly not really at a certain point lol
yea
in a semester or two you'll see where ur gpa lies
whether or not u want to bring it up is up to you
difficulty of raising it will depend on courseload and courses u take
tried that freshman year and i didnt hit anything xd
not sure if it helps a lot but i feel like it helps to some extent?
yea i feel like u have a good chance for freshman programs
yea
if anything though I think you have solid chances for freshman programs
someone is probably tracking it somewhere just gotta ask
also another thing for the resume
not sure if ur aiming for swe or research intern roles but if ur going for swe i feel like it might be helpful to add a project or two there
using new tech
could be like a long bullet pt or two
yea that sounds good
yea
true true
yeah ik
tbh i mean just having friends in your major is fine
you're not being exposed to a wide range of people that way but its fine to only have cs major friends as long as your friends are normal
this is facts
can he get you a referral though
brah
man when im successful im gonna give my kids internships
it's da experience
relatively
short end of the stick relatively
how strong is your friends connections lol
openai next summer wut
that's like a year from now
also could 100% be lying about openai
wait apps are already out???
ye
you're gonna get banned if you keep this up
people live different lives
strive for excellence sure but feeling immense distraught over someone surpassing you mean having an ego that's too large
one may even say
an inability to accept your inability
pun intended

@terse geyser u ever hear of the phrase comparison is the thief of joy
and the only person u should be comparing urself to is ur past self
you can cope but reality won't change
I actually just transferred from Purdue to t10 with similar profile as you. Do you have advice for getting foot in door for those startups? I checked linkedin and theres only like 5 alumni there
Like I go to people and then it shows who attended my school
Freshman wtf
I graduated college and my resume looks empty compared to this 💀
Go get that internship tho 🫡
what the hell
there's no way you don't have internal referrals/connections
to start you could probably switch your position title with the place you worked/researched at
if you have publications i would create a separate section for that

Bro is dooming with Jane street on resume
You prob have a bunch of ap/dual enrollment credits anyways
Idt you even need to add non degree seeking students
bro i literally go to purdue university and i have less experience
There’s no way this freshman has better stuff then me
Nowadays (sadly) this is the bar for top schools
Only the paranoid survive
it's freshman year just go travel or something
bro is cracked
I ❤️ Billert and his latissimus dorsi asthetics
I don’t think you’ll get any more help from this chat
TLDR is you can make a few changes for positions, but you’ll have to network to get a freshman year internship or go through a Columbia program (I’m sure they have a startup immersion program etc.)
There’s lots of great Columbia founders who would be quite impressed by your background and happy to have you join for a summer
Companies on the other hand would prefer to have you as an intern in 2 years
