#New graduate (May), need some tips.

For some context:

  • I graduate in May with a Bachelor's but have taken 12 hours of graduate coursework as an undergraduate, so I included it within education. I hope that point comes across well.

  • The Capstone and AI Phishing Website project are both school-related (senior capstone and graduate research project) that should both be finished in May. Should I make them both end in May 2024 so there's less "Present" on my resume? I just wanted to be honest.

  • The IT Technician and Assistant QM were at the same company. I've never worked an actual SWE internship due to working at this business local to my town for pretty much the entire duration of college, but I did get good IT and leadership experience here.

Thank you!

Hi there, I think you can just add Grad Year
I think senior capstone project should be under project since Experience is primarily about work experience unless you have a title for working on this project
Remove (in progress) since the date is present

1-2? I think you can just write 2

I think this bullet point can be rephrased:
rather than
[by doing this, for these people, did this]
I think of the XYZ method
[did this, for these people, by doing this]

Overall, what do you think about the content of the work experience and descriptions? I've been applied to about 20-30 or so IT, SWE, and Cybersec jobs within the past couple weeks for places in/around my area (Southeast US) and haven't gotten any callbacks or interviews.

#

Just wondering if I need to do something to buff up the resume or make it stand out more.

Hmmm when I think of the content and description, I test it against job descriptions, the answer to “are you a fit”

What do IT people do? Computer security, IT support, storing data so on

Looking at the resume, SWE is going to be a lot harder as I dont see real work experience on that field
