what role?
Early Career software engineer
no point even LM not reaching out for interviews rip
LM?
lockheed martin
they're not reaching out? how do u kno
i'm speculating so bc my first ever internship/co-op was in defense before moving onto other companise, and have friends that work in defense, they're also swarmed with resumes
I applied for a new grad SWE role at LM back in September. Got one behavioral interview in January and then an offer a week later. Don't have any experience in defense but I had two prior internships
Getting an interview is def the hardest part. The actual interview was really easy and just standard STAR questions. Asked a bit about my internship experience but no technical or coding questions
do u know if they're still hiring
idk I think it depends on the location. I got my offer for the Marietta, GA location. I heard LM did some layoffs recently at the Fort Worth location after announcing earnings so keep that in mind
haven't heard of anyone else getting an offer form LM from this server congrats!!
yeah thank you! I wasn't expecting it myself cause most of my skills are in mobile/web dev and they were looking for someone with more embedded software experience. I guess I got really lucky considering the current economy
Did a recruiter reach out after you apply asking you to fill out a prelim questionaire and then pass your resume to the HM? If so, when did they reach out after you apply? I applied for both early career and SWE level 2, but the recruiter only reached out for the level 2 position and forward my resume to the HM. this is for the marietta location too.
Also how was the process to get your clearance?
Yes a Talent Acquisition Manager emailed me asking me to fill out a form to verify my citizenship and few other details first week of January. Then she forwarded that to the hiring manager and then emailed me back to schedule an interview a week later.
I applied back in September 2023 so they contacted me 4 months later. I don't remember if I applied for the Marietta, GA location specifically but that's what the position was for
I'm currently going through the process to get a security clearance. After you accept the offer, they send a series of emails for drug screening, fingerprinting, and then the SF86 form which you fill out for starting the process. After you submit everything, it takes about 1-3 months to get interm clearance where they verify crime history, drug history, etc. and you can start working without getting the full clearance. To get the full clearance processed, it can take up to 5 months
By full security clearance I mean for it to all get processed. This job only requires the basic level security clearance and not the top level
Gotcha. Thanks for all the info. I applied on 1/25 and the recruiter reached out on 1/29. Ill just wait and see then 😅
