no they werent
i think they're cracking down on those tagged lists since ppl just memorize em
this^^
oh I see - do you mind sharing some of the questions or at least the topics?
congrats, what was ur timeline
thanks! applied like when it first released, then did OA and final in mid December, then team matching this week and last week
That's awesome, congrats! What was team matching like?
being completely honest, really stressful - Meta is moving really quick and most of the HMs I was talking to said they were talking to like 5 other candidates (for just 1 open new grad spot on their team)
the offer is contingent on successfully team matching so you can imagine its a little luck based, so if they accept another candidate, no offer
team matching was more stressful for me than the actual OA and final
I thought they used to guarantee a team match, unlike Google. has it changed??
Yup it’s very similar to google now, team match before offer. They got rid of team matching after bootcamp bc of what happened in 2022 (new grads without team got laid off)
That does sound pretty stressful- especially having to go through 5 of them. But hey you made it! Is team matching essentially a more in-depth behavioral?
What happens after your team match calls? How do you rank the teams and are you told which teams are interested in you?
when did you hear back after submitting the preference survey?
maybe 2 days? @vague sky
yeah you choose to tell recruiter what teams you'd be interested in moving forward with (and rank those), and which ones you didn't like
essentially a behavioral where you ask them questions but need to sell your skills too... since again they may be talking to several other candidates
they love graphs, trees, bfs, dfs, arrays and hashmaps -- those are worth studying most. no dp
general consensus is you need 4/4 optimal, with edge cases handled -- you can probably have minor bugs since they don't run code
so would say bar is set pretty high but staying calm and collected during the interview helped
The question bank is the same, if they ask outside of tagged list, then the interviewer opted to ask their own question
which is advised against based on the internal doc
because it makes it more difficult for the panel to review performance since it's an unfamiliar question
questions were never exactly from tagged but they're all variations of top 100 from what ive seen, usually even top 50
yea but counterargument is that otherwise you reward candidates who have leetcode premium vs those who don't lol -- so information (and even paywall) gap
the process is definitely flawed in that aspect for sure
How long did it take ur recruiter to get back to u?
in terms of TC, what is the meta offer for new grads?
is this for swe?
@quick vapor Do you think there aren't enough teams? Better to get matched as soon as possible than to wait for a better match?
that would be my honest recommendation
for sake of job security
or I guess offer security
@quick vapor hey congrats on your offer! i am going to team match with meta next and was wondering what sort of things each teams asked you and what you think helped you match well with a team
