It was very very easy for the online one. If you have a CS degree, and a 3.0, you’ll get it.

If ford ML doesn’t give me a return offer I will probably go masters

#

I think I can squeeze 3

#

What’s your undergrad GPA

fiery mantle
#

3.87

edgy flame
#

Fuck lol

fiery mantle
#

Trust you don’t need it

#

Anything with a 3 is fine

#

I think it says so on their app too

edgy flame
#

I hope you’re right. How many internships do you have?

fiery mantle
#

Will have 3 total with same company at the end of march

edgy flame
#

Hm

#

What specialization?

fiery mantle
#

For GT?

edgy flame
#

Both what you want and what the internships were in

fiery mantle
#

Backend for internships and Infra

#

GT i want ML or Interactive Intelligence

edgy flame
#

Same

#

Thanks for the information

fiery mantle
#

Probably interactive because I reallllly don’t want to take another algos course 😆

edgy flame
#

What’s interactive intel?

#

Never heard of it. All my exposure is CV and NLP

fiery mantle
#

Essentially machine learning minus the general graduate algos class

#

And some HCI component

edgy flame
#

Seems vague lol

fiery mantle
#

If you compare it’s almost identical

#

I just don’t want that graduate algos class

edgy flame
#

Fair

#

Less important infra I would assume

#

For infra**

fiery mantle
#

No not for the OMSCS

  1. I just like learning, I feel like my undergrad did not go deep enough on some topics.
  2. I have a gap between my current full-time offer and my graduation (like 4 months so might as well do something).
  3. In case my offer falls through, I want the ability to intern again.
fiery mantle
#

You can not intern if you have graduated typically.

#

So having a masters in progress allows you to intern again.

#

Usually easier to get an intern to full time conversion rather than attempting to apply to new grad positions.

#

Just gives you more flexibility

#

and GT is cheap so it's like.... why not?
