Oct 12th - tech chat, Nov 8th tech1&tech2, Dec ?? Final
Canadian, 1 Faang, 3rd year
I want to ask anyone who can answer to this,
I've been asked to join the final interview at bloomberg, and she wants my schedule for the next two weeks, but the problem is, I don't know how much time is needed to study system design, and I have school exams Dec 6th- Dec 14th. So I asked if I can have the interview on the week of Dec 18th. Did I make a good decision?
Toronto metropolitan University, one of the lowest ranked school for cs in canada
theyre pretty close to being full
uh oh
thats why they scheduled you so far out
she wants my schedule for this week and next week
should i just do my interview while not being prepared for sys design
and bet on my luck
how badly do you need to prep for those dinals
i dont see why u cant start system design today and then do the bb final before the 6
i want to be at the new grad level
just because this is the only interview i have at the moment, and i really want this position
idk im not u but im just guessing that bb is close to full so would do asap
ok
system design is pretty crammable and some people dont even get it
how do you know this though?
because they have scheuling delays earlier in the pipeline
they pushed my tech 1 a full month after i moved forward
but i dont work there so
plus, if they werent close to full, why would the recruter ask you to do it asap
oh you meant finals as in exams not swe interviews
i have 5 school exams over the period of DEC 6th-14th
and i have this final interview from bloomberg which they are looking to book sometime this week or next week
hm yeah im not quite sure then if this is your only process
but the fact they want to schedule soon is an indicator there is a chance they might be full after 2 weeks
ryerson 💩
thanks
whats your expectations on the system design?
just know how to design a schema, optimize reads/writes, and scale it via caching/load balancing and etc
but ure an intern dude
u can chill lol
^^
they make u whiteboard it and talk about it
I didn't get a sys design q and a lot of other people didn't either. its pretty random but just prep basics in case
dang i still have my first technical next week, u guys think its just a formality or is there a chance they dont fill up
Ended up getting 40 minutes of sys design questions
I was somewhat prepared so i answered all his question except for the last one which i didnt even understand the question
