damn, what were ur recruiter initials
Yeah I also did very well during the second round but the guy was very rude for no reason
Did you solve both questions with optimal time/space?
Yes
Communicated very well too
Had a good convo at the end
Maybe talking about your experience at the start influenced it?
I think I did well there. Followed star pretty well. It’s possible I didn’t emphasize growth there though
Could be that
Did you jump straight up to the solution or at least pretented you had to give it some thought?
I gave a ton of thought
Went through every step verbally, explained thought process
I ask because If they see you answer if perfectly, quickly on the first try they might assume you knew the problem already
Hmm I see. I did similar problems, but not the same
As messed up as it sounds, they sorta like you to not know what you have to do and actually "come up" with something
I did come up with stuff, maybe I was too quick
Did you have a lot of time for both problems?
I think so
ok yeah, I think we might've reached the point in recruiting (atleast for BB) where good enough is not enough
they might be only passing people who are strong hires now
That’s possible
I will say though
I thought of the problem pretty quick
Had a general idea on how to do it
And then explained step by step
Maybe it seemed like I was trying to be slow on purpose
Idk, just speculating
Maybe I should have struggled more idk
In my case, I was only given 1 problem I actually had seen before, the others were absolutely from scratch
I see, both of mine were new problems, but they were similar to ones I had done before
so I guess I didn't have to pretend I didn't see them before 😆
So I knew the general idea
LOL
Damn it, that’s what practice does
Yeah, they also sometimes like it when your first solution is not optimal and then you come up with something better
it sounds ridiculous but with the leetcode frenzy you can't easily distinguish from clever devs and leetcode monkeys
Yeah that’s fair
I guess I lacked growth
In general
So they told me to get lost
Think it’s just interviewer dependent
Yeah my first interviewers were cool
My second ones were nice
But even though we spoke well
My gut was telling me they’re a bit cold toward me
Like very subtlety
Idk if I was just imagining things, but idk
Also, very importantly, when they ask "Do you have any questions" at the end... it's 100% a test and if you don't ask good questions they defo count it against you
I thought my questions were really solid
I’m blanking out on what I asked, but I had a good convo
It’s possible maybe there was something I asked which they thought wasn’t a good question
Idk though, I didn’t feel that
Sometimes it’s just luck, don’t worry too much about it if you felt like you did well, it’s not your fault
Yeah, appreciate that
How long after the round did u receive the reject in? Also, was it virtual?
On campus
Friday second technical
Tuesday reject
