#Are you applying for SWE winter?

You gonna reask for winter if you get offer?
no. I can't do winter
Someone did that and got it since a spot opened
Oh ok
There is room for Summer though
Signed winter offer
oh nice
Could you tell me a bit about the final?
Its 2 parts
Mine spans over 4.5 hours
Is one part LC and another OOD?
Or... how does it work?
In the email there’s the design round and the coding round
Design round is an lc Q and a design Q. Design is similar to the ood q from before, but has some big differences
There’s some collaboration in this one
And it’s still high level implementation
They didn’t ask me for working code for any
Explanation was the most important thing. I heard someone got asked for code tho
But only one person
So this LC q and OOD d is all in the first hour?
Then what about the 2 hour session? That's where you actually implement the OOD question?
In that part do they want working code?
It’s in the interview that’s labeled design in your scheduling email
For the two hour coding, it’s also a lot of implementation
I wasn’t able to code everything out
But I explained what I had coded out well
And the thing I didn’t code, I had it in my head, I just couldn’t type it out fast enough, so I explained what I had in my head to the interviewer
I made sure to explain my thought process behind my decisions
Are they looking for you to explain what design patterns you used or how you utilized SOLID principles and shit like that?
Or is that too deep?
Also someone told me they got asked to OOD a board game? Do they use the same question for everyone in final round? Just like they used the same OOD question (Jigsaw Puzzle) for everyone in phone round.
I didn’t do anything about solid patterns
Idek what that is
But if you think that will help, then go for it
single responsibility principle, open-closed principle, Liskov substitution principle, interface segregation principle, and dependency inversion principle
