special link
anyone know when they do they respond a rejection or move forward
Had a really tough interview
Tagged hard
For anyone curious🥹
Where is this special link I’ve been hearing about
you just took the interview?
Think it’s typically a week
Yeah probably the toughest one I had in two years xd
I think virtual one is a bit harder than on campus
I heard if it's on campus, would be very quick
True
do you mind sharing it's 6-month tagged or 1-year tagged?
😆actually someone said this tag in previous thread
Oh no it is not tagged actually😅
Just checked
did one or two?
sorry to bother but wondering when you applied
One the interviewer said he only prepared one
About 2 weeks ago
gotcha thx
was is a tree q
string q someone said he got exact same one
i suspect it is same interviewer
🥹he said he failed
text justification?
word break 2
it's 6-month tagged
Oh is it? Okay I didn't see it in tagged q tho
It’s word break 2 I feel it in my bones
Ultra instinct
Anyway it is difficult as he wants some math for complexity analysis and I would say I probably failed it
Solved in like 5 min tho
Zd
🥹anyone knows how long it takes for a reject to your email
That’s unfortunate, do they care that much about the complexity?
I don't know
I heard others typically got easy and medium and don't ask much for time complexity
I mean if u solved a hard in 5 min I feel like it would be harsh to reject u but idk
Word break2 does not deserve a hard
I’ve heard some ppl spend the entire interview on a medium and still pass
your tech1? and only one interviewer?
I thought there would be no interviews this week b/c of ghc
If you apply via the link you got some chance picked by recruiter that targets your school I think
The chance isn't too high tho
It is like full RNG
did you get reached out?
cool
What did you put down as referral?
mmm, i feel like that might have something to do with it too. Like if you were part of a legit campus event, recruiter gave specific instructions on what to type for the referral
At least mine did
🥹fake it
Mine is from cmu
But I m not a cmu student
Anyway if you apply via link the content of interview seems harder than on campus in general
All qs I saw for on campus are just very standard easy to mid
so you didnt give any analysis for time complexity?
I gave
But he isn't satisfied
Then later we analyze it together
He gave many hints
Then I reached something he feels ok
Ask for follow up
Then end
Majority of the interview was spent on complexity actually
did u run thru ur thought process? finishing a hard in 5min is impressive, but it matters more that you explained everything, even if it takes you 20min to answer the problem
From what I understand, Bloomberg prefers Communication > Quickness. Albeit, you should still aim for correctness.
Yeah true
He kept asking me to clarify
Maybe because we are not native speaker of English to it takes sometime for us to communicate
😆honestly word break2 is probably one of the easiest hards out there but still it gets tricky when they ask for complexity
He gives his hints and I answer back with some recurrence
He feels OK then we move to follow up
Was it just one question for your call?
He said yes he expect candidate to only answer one
Maybe that is why he had a hard
He said he prepared no more than that
How accurate the interviewer required? Did it suffice to answer it roughly? say polynomial, exponential or factorial?
I said something close to correct answer at first
N 2toN
Yet he wants more detailed analysis
Then you have to go recurrence
Which is painful
Honestly I feel the same for my databricks phone
And I failed it
Xd
Quite similar process
who knows
A hard followed by weird complexity analysis
Anyway if any of you are preparing for phone
Tag q is your best friend
Good luck
I got an email saying my resume is still under review
🥹you need your campus recruiter to pay attention I guess
Our school luckily have a recruiter who is picking resumes for phone
Me and another guy got picked
He is doing his phone next week
jealous of you have plenty of time to prepare
I heard some one got invitation just one or two days ahead
Yeah if it is on campus
But the advantage is that you move quick and in general it is easier than virtual
hopefully
is this a week to reject or to move forward? or is it the same for both?
Looks like move forward is usually 1 to 2 days 3 days more to get rej. But my data points all come from those who interview on campus, some just schedule next round at the end of 1st round
Ah ok I’m virtual
I think for on-campus interviews, you'll know immeidately after each round, cauz those interviews usually arranged 2/3 days in a row
