yo timeline pls?
LOL
damn i didnt know epic app was out so early
i applied 8/21 and oa 09/03
idk if gmi or not
ikr
the oa wasnt bad tho
like coding wise
damn did oa on Aug 25 and no response ITS OVER
Last year it was OA -> final
And the final was a demo of my chart , talk to an engineer and ask questions , talk to an engineer about a project you worked on (about 30-45 minutes), recruiter behavioral round.
mychart is their product
basically a health dashboard that hospitals/doctor offices use
lol
How long did the OA take you lol
It is indeed 3.5 hours
Be aware that almost none of it is technical
And it is mostly just an advertisement for the product lol
The company uses extremely old tech. The common sentiment is that altough the pay is really good, the company is dogshit to work for
For reference I did it last year
Completely understandable, I would just avoid ng
There is a section about explaining a project. My interviewer was kind of a dick about it and asked if my project was for school, to which I said yes, and he seemed very unhappy about it
And a small behavioral at the end, but both are pretty easy
I'd say it's hard not to pass (then again, I didn't but I also expressed my uncertainty in grad date at the time and they didn't seem too happy about me saying I wanted to do a masters lol)
I mean again the pay for intern as well as name recognition are good. I just wouldn't recommend going for ng despite the pay
So take that for what you will, but good luck regardless, I'm sure you will do well
Idk I told them I was looking into doing a masters and they didn’t seem to care
Lol they cared a lot for me
A lot of people will work at epic for 1-2 years making 120k ish in mcol and pay off student loans and then dip for something else
At least that seemed to be the case (therer was a lot of push back from them on the idea)
Ya that’s interesting. I did get a free trip to Madison out of it tho which is nice
Oh yours wasn't virtual? wow
No after the offer they let you fly in
So I got a 3 day 2 night trip fully paid for lol
But then it was kinda awkward at the end when i got asked point blank if I was taking the offer and I rejected it
Capital One
Ope
Ya she really tried to convince me to take the offer. She even reached out 2 or 3 times over the next couple weeks
My impression of them kind of matched this
That they were begging for people to work there
Which is NEVER a good sign
Idk I'm trying to be a bit more selective this year since I anticipate a return offer from where I worked last summer
They weren’t begging me
That’s not the right word
Ah
I don’t know what word to use but I wouldn’t exactly call it begging
No worries. I can see where you thought that from how I worded things
I do stand by what I said though at the end, I don't really think it's a great sign that they continue to try to convince you after you already said no
But on the flip side, a job is a job
@whole ivy why is the company dogshit to work for
is epic summer or spring
?
i dont even remember applying and i still need to do my oa
Outdated tech stack (MUMPS, for instance) and very long hours are the expectation (heard from a friend). So you don’t learn much
