roast my resume for winter 2024
Put libraries above tools
Get rid of GitHub
And vscode
Specify which AWS services
Chess engine bullet 1 is too verbose
Get rid of the specific chess rules, you mention those verbally if they inquire
Bullet 2 is a bit verbose too try to be more concise
Any metrics to back up those claims?
Education needs to go to the top
Skills can go to the bottom or wherever honestly
CS50 remove I don’t think it’s that valuable since a bunch of ppl have taken it
If the other ones are more reputable keep otherwise remove too
first exp, first bullet rather just remove the cutting edge enhancements part and mention the models you implemented + any metrics associated with advancements
Make the bullets at most 2 lines
Bullet 3 flip the sentence mention the ultimate goal first then the features
Last bullet add a link to the research paper just remove the collaboration part it’s implied
Next experience rather than mentioning discussion is there anything specific in those discussions you can highlight?
Did you write the research papers or just present existing one?
ML exp change the verb spearheaded you end up reusing it later
Any stats related to the rocker deployment?
Google exp mention # of students, mentors, any relevant technical skills you gained
Thanks so much for all the feedback!
not really sure how to specify or test how good it is
We just rotated presenting every week.
I know it's not really like a direct contribution to anything, but I wanted to highlight that I have knowledge about the topics
Do you think I should remove it?
uh we're currently training stuff now. Should I put the estimated accuracy we're going to achieve? Like originally it was 85% or something, but it should end up being 95+
Yes
If u have something to measure the runtime (idk what other metric lol) for decision making, might be worth using
Maybe highlight a specific paper, or take the bullet above and split it into 2 if there is more content to discuss
hm that kind of just depends on the depth I want it to search. But I guess that's worth mentioning
okay thanks
Also do you think this resume is competitive for Amazon? Should I improve my skills a bit more before I apply?
Okie thanks so much for your help, I really appreciate it
Np, best of luck
Should I put the Google mentorship program as an experience or part of my education section?
Make an extracurricular section and put that on there
Is that a club or is it a program they offer?
program, it's CSRMP
The research paper is for a conference and hasn't been officially published yet. Should I just put the title?
Yeah that’s fine
