You took powerday already?
how was the powerday
bro forgot to take his meds
Oh dam. They are quick huh
What
i did get reachout
they still ask obj oriented design?
was overall superday technical portion light
Is this just class design?
@fallow gorge
ye p much
There's 3 rounds:
-
Object Oriented Design Case: This is some business case where you'll get some buggy code. You will have to identify the error and find an optimal way to solve the business problem. This is much more of a tech consulting style case so it shouldn't be too bad overall but know your basic business and maybe have ideas on how you can leverage some data capital one collects to market one of their products better
-
Technical Round: Pretty easy in my opinion its not bad at all, just practice the problems commonly asked by C1. This is also tied to some business aspects but you're not required to explain
-
Behavioral: No explanation
I will say its much easier to trip up on the object oriented design than the technical
in that order?
for me it was in that order
with a 1 hour break after technical
so 4 hours total but only 3 hours interviewing
was the lc from C1 tagged
also finished behavioral early
no, its an original problem if that's what you mean
also idk what language you guys use
but Python always my go to
ye python on top
wait what language is the case design in? whatever you want?
Yes, but I've heard to stay away from Cpp for the oo case design
so they brought back the lc

They didn't
its not exactly leetcode style
its just a word problem but with capital one applications
but if you do leetcode its ez
ok bet
LC tagged good enough for technical?
if you have problems solving the technical you need to switch to graphic design
i'll say that
Lmao
that was ridiculously easy
im not even worried about the technical
i wasn't either
but lowkey worried for the case interview
look up a consulting interview and practice that
capital one cares a lot about how you prepare you answers
even in technical roles
bet
Consulting interview huh
glooks brodie @winter gale
so before you answer, take a second to think and then make sure your response is categorized
so if you have 2 approaches to fix something start with
so i have 2 approaches, here is the benefit of one vs here is the benefit of the other
than move to lay them out
its practically a consulting case but swap the math word problem with some code
in mine it wasn't the easiest but i was also half asleep because I got a 9 AM et for powerday and I'm on the west coast
damn 6 am is aids
π
sheesh
they was prayin on ur downfall
East coast buff
hey better to schedule a bad time of the day than schedule for a later date
you do what you gotta do
true
What location did you pick @winter gale
McLean VA
Do they give housing or nah
they do
Did they do any trivia questions for your resume? Like asking about javascript react and stuff
Nice
they do not
the case and technical interviewers don't have access to your resume in fact
only the behavioral one
so basically dont sell on the case and you get offer p much
What language is the buggy code in
bett
any you can pick
I'd stay away from C++
but that's my opinion
Oh ok
isnt case study only in python
what else?
but people told me to do it in python
Java
you'll see a lot of stuff online for a normal capital one case interview
for their bankers and IBs
but not for technical cases
bros built diff
lol
how long does it take to get an interview
time to prep ππ₯ππ₯ππ₯ππ₯ππ₯ππ₯ππ₯ππ₯ππ₯ππ₯ππ₯ππ₯ππ₯
@winter gale do you think i should do it asap or wait a week
my biggest tip @shadow harbor is to sound extremely businessy in your explanations on the case
asap
you'll be fine
at the start of the case, they'll throw you a random scenario
whats the pay
like my banking app currently does this and stores this data blah blah blah
and the interviewer will ask you some brain teasers
about how can we use technology to improve some process
or something
Sheesh alright
and make sure to layout not only the tech but the business impact
Wait why
marketing is always a safe move too
idk i feel like python is a lot more friendly to the eyes when trying to find what's wrong
but just be me
how would you recommend preparing for the business part of the interview?
Fair
watch a few videos on a basic consulting case to get an idea
make sure to write down notes and ask clarifying questions when needed
if you ask a good question (capital one is infamous for not giving you full info straight in the question), they will applaud you for it
this was not tip right?
to desmonstrate interest
bro dropping the sauce rn π₯
this is tip
yes for TIp
damn congrats
nah they
introduce themselves
at the start
oh okay
so at the end you'll have time but I don't think it matters
the case will take up most of the time
so dont ask fake questions, just ask the necessary questions to solve the interview
?
yes
alright alright
so if you absolutely need a clarifying question thats great
@winter gale what's the pay/offer from mclean location? 61/hr + housing?
how long does it take for the codesignal to verify your test usually
i took it today but my dog was at my legs so i am afraid that me looking down might seem like i was on my phone or some shit
Took me 21 hours luckily
Took 42 for me
has your rercruiter responded btw
Nah but i just got verified today so I donβt expect anything yet
Oh true
