It's more of something a recruiter/HM giving you a behavioral would have something to talk about as opposed to preventing you from getting resume screened.
Thanks for the advice. Any other tips on getting more callbacks for fall apart from a leadership/awards section?
👋
- Excellent use of XYZ on your second work experience and in some of your project descriptions.
- Could add relevant coursework inside the Education section.
Grammar/Reading Check:
1st Work Experience:
- "Architect solutions to technical design problems and develop and deliver new software features."
Might consider "Developing solutions to technical design problems, and delivering new software features." (Oxford comma use is up to you, I just prefer them)
2nd Work Experience:
- "Architected a" is a bit clunky.
Maybe Built/Designed instead, or something like: "Created architecture of", "Designed and implemented", or maybe "Engineered a" would work.
Other:
- Nitpicky on my end but commas at the end of your languages and technologies lists aren't needed.
- Not personally a fan of bolding languages/tools/technology in the work/project descriptions, but if you want to keep it to help someone scanning through your resume I would tone down a little bit of the bolding in your 2nd work experience. My eyes just start jumping to all the keywords you've bolded and barely look at anything else. I'd say highlight the really important bits if you want to keep doing that.
Like branj mentioned; you have plenty of white space to compress if needed so there's definitely room to put anything leadership related like he said, or anything academic you'd like to highlight.
Honestly the general wisdom is to include some metrics/stats as well as go in-depth with the technical details of your work - both of which you did. Honestly just be super proactive with applying - I did maybe 30 apps last cycle but I scoped out companies that were confirmed to still be hiring and used GPT to write cover letters. I got a spring big N internship that just converted to summer as well and I applied in early Feb. because I checked job sites really proactively, and I have no doubt you can do the same w/ your experience.
Good luck, and try using Notion or jackfruit.ai to track those apps after you submit them!
