#Role?

I applied 30 days ago for the SWE role and 18 days ago for the QA role. They reached back for the QA but I asked if there's a chance for me to interview for the swe role.
if u don't mind answering, do you have previous internship experience? congrats tho
I got my first internship during the summer and received a return offer from the company. I've been working as a full time swe since then (Sept 2022)
currently a final-year cs student as well
it's a pain, but I'm managing
Oh wow, that's awesome! I'm surprised you're still looking around for internshis when you have a fulltime offer/job
yeah same here lol, i'm doing an internship rn and it's killing me with taking OS and other cs electives
Honestly, I'll only go to intern for a company like MSFT, Apple etc. I interviewed with MSFT, the process took around 5 months due to all these lay offs etc.. started late september and in January they let me know that the final round had been canceled. Passed their OA and the behavioral though.
yeah it can get hectic.. especially during exam period
Im grateful for the "study leaves" I can get as a full time employee at the current company 😄
You passed their OA/behavioral for new grad I'm assuming? They prioritized intern return offers over outside hiring. I never heard back for their internship program when i applied back in summer ( I didn't have internship experience then tbf)
that's nice, def helps here and there
It was an internship with a starting date either March or June-July actually, this year is the last cycle for me to get internships I think so..
"I received very positive feedback from the interviewer, who was impressed with my answers, particularly my response to the question: 'How would you explain recursion to a 5-year-old?' He even told me that it was the best answer he had ever heard. We scheduled a final interview for December 13th, but unfortunately, it was later postponed and ultimately canceled.
The recruiter and the interviewer got laid off as well during the process..
so there were left no spots for me in the end
They prioritized intern return offers over outside hiring makes sense. I prefer it that way tbh
I wish you all the best dude, grinding can't go wrong! you got this
A start date for March for Microsoft? That's pretty cool. I had no idea that they did off-season internships. Are you like a waterloo student or part of a co-op?
Dang, i'm sorry to hear that. Sometimes it's out of your control and we're undergoing one of the worst hiring cycles so it's not your fault. We have a better shot next year
Thank you, appreciate it and you got this as well!
I'm a Greek student actually haha, not even USA. Microsoft and Apple roles are all within EMEA basically
