#process Veeva Final
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
January: Applied 02/01: OA, 02/08: Final, 02/16: Final behavioral
02/17: Sent reference checks
any tips on how to prepare for their phone/behavioral
They prioritize cultural fit
They want someone who will stay at their company for a long time
Technicial questions: My team asked me questions that tested reading comprehension, understanding what the inputs and outputs are and what the solution needs to do
No fancy algos or esoteric data structures needed to solve the problem. There is no need to study leetcode in advance for the kinds of problems I got
My team didn't really give a lot of time for the coding part, but they let me abstract out the parts of the solution that were less important
Behaviorals: My team asked a LOT of behaviorals, and they really tried to pry deep into situations such as at previous internships, including successes, failures, and my relationship with other colleagues.
They also asked a lot about personal strengths and weaknesses.
My team can talk a shit ton, was wearing my mind down. I stuttered and repeated myself a lot since I have a somewhat strong natural stutter(i never ask for accomodations)
And be prepared for questions like “why didn’t you go back to X company on resume? Are you planning to go back?”
Part of my opinion is try not to feel too threatened if they start to be intrusive with the behavioral questions they ask
Yup, intrusive like that
Yup
I got asked verbatim that
Also questions like “would you want to stay long term at Veeva”
They didn't ask me that
What is there at Veeva to make you stay long term?
But it's a very important cultural trait at veeva
They value cultural fit more than technical
Veeva uses good WLB + fully remote work to build teams that will stay and maintain the product for a long time without having to pay faang level
If that makes sense
Because honestly I would rate my performance as like 7/10 in the technical
You really have to drive the fact that you want to stay at Veeva
Prepare for: Why Veeva? Where do you see yourself in 5 years at Veeva?
Also the technical with engineering manager matters the most. I didn’t do well in that technical but I was honestly answering all the probing questions he had
There's also a lot of behavioral things that the interviewer decides probably
Technical does matter
At least get a conceptual solution written
Even if some of the logic is abstracted
Yes as long as your explain approach even if you can’t implement it completely, you will pass
Also be prepared with how some languages store data structures
But I'd say that one of my interviewers was kind of critical about how I brainstorm for coding problems
I was asked about it in Java
In the recruiter round do not say you cannot do Java. That is their main language for technical and OA.
They have mobile teams but I think it’s relatively niche compared to Java
Oh you already did the final
Ya
Didn't notice your timeline
Aaaah no problem
@runic kestrel here's a lot of potential things u should consider
Anyways good luck dude

Recruiter call you need to vibe with the recruiter and if they mention about OA then you pass
Gl to both of you
Good luck to everyone with their interviews! I’m also fingers crossed 🤞
wow thank you both so much for the info @brisk spoke @solemn delta
one more thing if u guys don’t mind. was the OA leet code styled questions? like mediums
Yes
^
thanks
lots of great information here
@brisk spoke were your technical rounds with the engineering manager leetcode style questions or more like @solemn delta's ?
Are there referrals for this company. I am interested in working for them
Mix of leetcode and OOP as I mentioned
There have referrals I think but I blindly applied to the role.
I now have another meeting booked with the talent attraction manager. But they only reached out to only one of my references???
I guess its an offer call
Hopefully 🤞
Good luck!
@craggy bluff do you have any questions about Veeva? I’m not accepting any friend requests right now. I can answer them here
yea, just wondering when Veeva will call for reject after final round? heard from some people that Veeva called them hours after final to reject.
cuz I saw you said you have some friends received the reject call
Okay. Like how long they took to make their decision
Next day I got a call saying I have another chat with a talent manager about my interests etc
I mean email
I see thanks for sharing
Next day, you mean next day of 02/08: Final?
Yes
Hey @brisk spoke can you please tell what did they ask in the first behavioral, and how long did it last?
I meant in the very first recruiter round?
It would be really helpful, thank you.
Mostly stuff like what brought you to software engineering, why Veeva, what are your programming languages of choice (say Java), what are your hobbies?
It was just 30 minutes
You should really show interest in Veeva and it’s work and show that you want to stay at the company for a long time
@brisk spoke just had my final round last Wed! how did it go for you?
I'm curious about how long they take to get back to us
I have a call tomorrow with the Talent Attraction Manager tomorrow regarding final results.
Very fast. Veeva doesn’t wait around like Google.
haha that's nice
best of luck!
🤞
when did you get the email about scheduling the results call?
was it ~1 week? or even less?
So as above 02/08 Final. 02/09 Call to schedule final behavioral. 02/16 final behavioral. 02/17 call to check references. 02/22 call to book final decision call. 02/27 final decision call???
Afaik people are saying it’s an offer because logically why would you make a candidate book a 30 minute zoom call with the manager on calendly if you want to reject them. Veeva afaik emails or calls on phone to reject.
Final round. I think I performed better behaviorally over technically.
But I can’t be too confident seeing how companies change so fast so fingers crossed 🤞🤞🤞
oh interesting, you had a "final" and a "final behavioral"? my final was with the team and it was 2.5 hours
is the final behavioral after the team round?
My final was 3 interviews: coffee chat plus one technical plus one technical and resume deep dive mix with engineering manager
yeah that was mine too!
Yea I think it depends with team whether they conduct the final behavioral and reference checks.
Yea I thought I was done
Prepare for questions like why Veeva and why you want to stay with the company
Also be ready for questions like what would you bring to the team etc
so you interview with the same team right?
also this is so helpful you have no idea
I really needed this info lol, Veeva info is scarce
The talent manager is not associated with team afaik it’s just to gauge your interest in the EDP program
But the reference checks are done by the EM of the team you interview with
Glad I could be of help
EDP program = Veeva new grad?
I know the info is very scarce
if you're rejected by the talent manager, that equals a rejection right
Yes
oof haha
But I think it’s very rare to be rejected by the talent manager unless you aren’t prepared for common questions.
makes sense. how long is that interview?
gonna prep up for those questions you mentioned
30 minutes
best of luck on your results!
will lyk how it goes
aldsjflakjfldjflsdjf
I need this loll
tips on phone?
the round before oa (behavioral)
i have it in a week
Wrote it here
JavaScript?
i use javascript yea
They have teams for JS
Then great!
But you would be locked to Js for the OA fyi
So be ready to do OA in JS
oh nah
So they lock the language when they send OA so you can switch between languages
Just letting you know
i cant or i can?
if asked to work in either java or javascript, do u think they would care if i choose javascript? bc u mentioned tbst they emphasize a LOT of java
Sorry you can’t switch
Hmm you can say that you can do both Java and JS but you want to do OA in JS
i only use javascript for projects tho, im much more comfortable using java for leetcode
💀
I got an email form them last week to schedule a 30 min interview. But the next availability is like in June lol
Hey @brisk spoke thanks to your messages, qualified the first round.
Can you please tell how many questions are there in the OA?
@brisk spoke does veeva have team for python ?
3 its mentioned above or in other process posts
Can you please tell, what kind of leetcode questions were asked? Was it graph? Dp?
can you please tell me what were the questions?
.
I would be violating server rules then. There are 3 LC easy-mediums no graph/dp but using other data structures.
l should i expect something similar on the java OA?
i have the OA coming up and don’t know what to expect. it is in CodinGame
I think the questions are same for everyone afaik
Yea it’s like hackerrank where you fill in the function definition
how was the difficulty of the OA
easy-medium
No hards I think
since you have to do 3 in like 80 minutes.
is it proctored? @brisk spoke I never used CodinGame
No idea. I believe so but there is no webcam proctoring.
@brisk spoke did u score perfect on the OA? i completed it recently and i missed a few test cases 😭
when can i expect to hear back about my oa results 💀
Yes
Within 3 days according to Veeva
Does they require screen share for the final round team day?
Hey @brisk spoke I passed the OA, I wanted to ask if you could help me with the final round, what kind of questions were asked, was it technical or what? that would be really great!
ohhh gotcha, I did not know the server rules are set up like this.
Can you please accept my friend request? I would like to DM you.
how did u do on the OA? did u get full score
Yes, I got a full score. I would say the test is pretty easy, even for a Non-Java coder like me.
Sorry I’m not accepting friend requests right now. I have posted detailed info about the final in this thread. Brush up on OOP designs, garbage collection in Java, how Java stores data structures and other general CS knowledge. Questions are mix of OOP and leetcode for both technical rounds. Prepare for behavioral and prepare details from your resume.
Okay, thats fine. Ill ask it here then. Can you please be a little more detailed? Like how was the split, was the first hour just leetcode or just behavioral, or a mix of both? Same for the second hour and the third hour. Thank you for sharing.
Team day consists of 3 parts: a coffee chat where you chat with other new Veeva members. It’s essentially a behavioral round that is structured as a chat. Next comes the technical round with the engineering manager where it’s a deep dive into your resume about the work you have done, behavioral questions, and a technical question to solve. Final round was a technical round where I had to solve a technical question. Veeva afaik has its own question bank it’s not straight leetcode. I recommend that you learn the most common data structures and functions so that you don’t waste time finding it in Java doc. I asked if I could use documentation and my interviewer didn’t mind. You do it on coderpad.
Technical questions are data structure based questions on solving real world problems. You have to be really fast in reading Java because there is a lot of boilerplate code to read through.
Essentially they are restructured leetcode problems.
Usually Veeva let’s you know results within 3 days that’s what I heard from online sources.
Thank you so much! this is helpful.
For the OOP design round? do they expect you to design a system, or tackle a problem for designing a class or simple object oriented questions and answer round?
Second one
okay gotcha.
What are the behavioral questions alike?
could you please tell me What the behavioral questions are alike in the final teamday
Why Veeva? What 3 things are important to you in a workplace (match with Veeva values)? Do you see yourself working here long term?
Plus you yourself should ask a few questions.
Another question; I see that you interned at X, do you have any future plans to go back and work there? (Say no and why)
it’s been 6 days since i’ve finished my OA and no reply back, is it safe to say i didn’t make it 💀 i couldn’t full score my OA
Are these behaviorial questions you mentioned asked in the final team day?If not, could you please tell me What the behavioral questions are alike in the final teamday?
I was asked these questions during both team day and final behavioral.
Soooooooo afaik a lot of people at Veeva are on leave right now
So maybe give it some more time?
Look above at my previous messages about team day.
did they ask behaviorial questions like when you have conflict with others how do you solve it…this kind of behaviorial questions?
I think they asked a few of those as well. I don’t quite remember the exact question though. That was during the engineering manager round.
you should ask them an update
When I asked for an update they told me that I have passed the OA and moved to team matching round. They have still not scheduled the final round.
oh ok.
@brisk spoke is the team day scheduled by them or do they give you a calendly link like the other rounds so that you can choose
and also, besides java oop questions, do they ask you any specific parts of java, like java trivia type questions
I think I gave range of dates
Check above
But yes they can ask specifics of Java
did you have code review in the team day?
No
do u mind sharing the TC Veeva offered you?
120k base. 20k hiring bonus. 30k stock (25% of base every year).
It’s same for all in Pleasanton I believe
in your team day were there any questions that you didn’t answer well or just didn’t know the and?
did they send u an email yet?
Ya a few implementations of java data structures. I don’t think you need to answer 100% right
Sadly I got rejected after the coding round. I commented the code, and submitted the optimal solutions.
really sad
I remembered mine was scheduled till June lol 😂
Hey @brisk spoke do you have any recommendations on how to answer Why Veeva?
Do you think I should tailor that answer more generally related to values and Veeva's impact on the world, or should it be more specific to the actual coding and software engineering work I would be able to do in Veeva?
The first one.
Thank you, to be clear I'm referring to the final interview not the recruiter screen. Does that change anything or should I keep the same focus?
Basically prep behavioral on why Veeva and their values. Doesn’t matter which stage of the interview.
There’s a ton of info on this thread and in others threads
Thank you really appreciate it
did you get a reply? i wasn't able to fully implement the last question. the website crashed a few times too smh
Are we allow to use JavaScript for the oa and final
just curious.
Depending on team, the language is locked to JS, Java or Objective-C
i j did my final interview and they told me that i'd get a response by fri eod
they also j asked me for references, will they contact my references before or after this week?
Depends on when your EM that interviewed you is free?
sorry, what does em stand for?
Engineering Manager
Hey, It happened with me too
@old halo They contacted me today saying my reference check is completed and they haven't told me about whether I got the job or not. I have a meeting scheduled with EDP HR lead tomorrow. Who's your hiring manager?
Did they reject anyone on the Zoom call, post reference check or it's their way of discussing the offer?
Is it Natalie?
They discuss benefits, offer, stocks etc
Yes
Also I think you tried pinging me on LinkedIn 😂. Sorry I was a bit busy with work.
Yea I think it’s an offer. Veeva usually rejects fast on email
She’ll go over which offices you can work out of
Oh that's great! Yeah I tried connecting first through discord but friend request was off
Because it’s RTO for new EDP interns and full timers
Nice
Hiring Manager Jonathan
Yea I’ve heard CRM is hiring a lot
Yeah he told there are 2-3 openings, what's your team?
Cool you’ll probably see me in the office (I go for the food 😂) and it’s a nice office. I’m on Quality it’s an application team (you’ll learn a lot during onboarding)
Also if you don't mind what is general compensation they are giving for the role, just to have an idea before the call
It’s fixed
Here
For California ^
That's great lol, I will definitely see you soon. Once they confirm I need to move from east coast to west.
Thank you
I also moved from coast to coast (the move was annoying.)
No worries. Sorry about not replying earlier.
Once they confirm I can probably get in touch with you about location then, great! No worries at all I can imagine everyone trying to text and catching up with work
Got the offer everything as you said except bonus is 20K instead of 30K
Did they mention about the stock?
Oh I must have read wrong
Then yeah it's the same
My bad I am sorry
Yeah they gave 30K stock in RSU
@brisk spoke can we connect somewhere to discuss about where to stay and few other things. They have given me around 19 days to come to CA and my written offer won't be available till next Wednesday. So i can't get added to slack till then
sorry for replying late but congrats! i got offer too also on crm :)
where is the discord server for veeva edp again?
Hey that's great
@old halo Hi! wondering what your onsite java questions were like?
i got asked easy-medium lc questions, i know others got asked conceptual questions in addition to coding
ahh I see thanks!!
hey 👋 if you have a minute, I sent you a question about the Veeva OA in dms 😁 @calm mural @midnight smelt @runic kestrel @fair heart
