  • general format: 1 column PLEASE, no picture, no references (if they want they'll ask)
  • there's no need for a blurb
  • you don't need to put software engineer under your name
  • break experiences into more bullet points, there's no point to bulleting if you're only going to use one
  • text is hard to read, darker colour text overall is needed
  • projects should be a title, the same as experience or education
  • adding onto projects, format them the same way you do experience
  • shift dates for experience to the right so it's easier to read

i noticed on a lot of the other resume's they use the very simple layout where its just top to bottom

A highly regarded resume is Jake's, it's pretty common to see it

i asked someone else for their opinion and they said the current layout looks better, but i noticed the other simple layout is actually quite popular

Since it's simple and easy-to-read (as well as for ATS to parse)
