appreciate it
congrats what was ur timeline?
Applied late November then behavioral, OA, team day, and final behavioral from 1/10-early Feb
there's 2 behaviorals? also what does the team day look like?
yeah 2 behaviorals, ig even 3 if you consider the behavioral/tech mix during teamday
consists of talking to young/new engineers for a round, technical with another engineer, then tech/behavioral w/ manager
could I dm? just got a reach out from veeva for the next steps
Hi @fluid gale, was the final round of behavioral with the talent attraction manager? I got scheduled for an interview after my team day.
yeah that should be the final behavioral @misty token
Thanks and how many days after the final behavioral did you get the offer?
got an email asking for the decision call a couple hours after. the final behavioral
@fluid gale I have my interview tomorrow. Quick question we’re they standard behavioral questions that you were asked?
yeah they were pretty standard with lots of opportunity to potentially showcase why you would be a good fit for them
Thanks so much!
np, good luck!
Had the interview, felt that I vibed well with the interviewer. I’ll get to know by EOD tomorrow. Let’s see how it goes.
So the recruiter messaged that they have sent out reference check emails
What does reference check emails mean?
They asked me for 2 references after recruiter phone screen
Professional or academic references
You mean after the final round recruiter interview, they ask to provide 2 references? But why?
I dunno
What position you are interviewing?
New grad associate software engineer
This was before the final on-site
So they want to double check your background through provided references before making offer decesion?
Oooh best of luck dude!
But were you asked references before?
If not they might ask otherwise they might proceed even without references.
I remember they did that
So if they tell you that they’ve sent reference check emails it’s a good thing
You got offer now?
Nope
I just got the message that they are doing reference check and according to everyone that I know it’s sometime standard procedure
Are they checking through emails?
Hmm one of my references (internship manager) told me he scheduled a call
My other reference is my bachelors thesis professor (I’m international) so they’ll probably ask her in email
I don’t think they’ll call international numbers lol
Probably. Most non-big techs have reference checks and even if they give you an offer (big tech or whatever) the offer might have a clause that states that the offer is contigent on successful professional reference check.
Even Apple asked for professional references when I interviewed with them lol
So do u know what they asked during the reference check calls? Are they looking to verify all the bullet points on your resume, or are they looking to just verify that you worked there at the specified dates and did not get disciplined?
Behavioral wise they ask stuff like what did I work on, how was I in a team, why did I leave the company, was I fired?
do u think they'd show the bullet points on your resume and ask if those are true? 😅
