Netflix doesn't pay stock. You can opt-in to an option plan tho
oh yeah i forgot ur right
ur right at the correct levels.fyi range so thats great, im assuming ur going to work out the los gatos office?
Yeah most likely. Their teams are 95% Los Gatos 5% LA
yooo congrats man!
what was the process like? how stressful was it?
how hard did you LC and prepare for it?
I didn't find it that stressful. I got a CodeSignal OA, then was for a first round tech, then was invited back for 1 sys design, 1 tech, and 1 behavioral with a hiring manager all back to back. The LC wasn't that hard each interview only had 1 question. The first interview was LC med but it's such a popular LC question anyone should get it. The other was another med tree question but it was super chill.
In total since June I maybe did like 100 LC questions. I stopped practicing LC in September cuz of school and I was already interviewing
wow absolutely legendary, congrats on the big win fam
how long after applying did you get the OA? trying to understand if i should consider myself rejected lol
Applied August 24th and got the OA on Sep 1
how was the sys design q? haven’t really done something like that before but I’ve heard that it’s not an actual system design question?
It wasn't that bad. It's phrased like a sys design q mine was how I would design the like/disklike feature for netflix. We focused a lot on the API endpoints and the models for the database. We didn't do anything crazy like talk about gateways or load balancers or any of that stuff. Pretty high level. Most detailed thing we discussed was caching
I think they care more about how you break down the problem. They also want to see that you think about the bigger picture. Your solution should address the use cases of the product. It should do that well but there's a trade off between feature set and complexity. If I was doing this again I would keep it simpler. Really just let the interviewer guide you to what he's interesting in hearing
Thank you!
Mind sharing codesignal score (or just range)?
845
Mind giving me an offer?

thanks! I feel much better about this, did you prepare in any way for it? or kind of just use knowledge from past experiences
I watched this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtMvNh0WFVM&list=LL&index=5 I don't really know how else to study for it lol. I found that it was just being logical and talkative

gotcha gotcha, lowkey my first round felt similar with being logical and talkative 😅
Yeah I'm sure you'll do well! It's OOD but with plain text asides from code. Good luck!!
Was it a standard CodeSignal or a custom one?
standard
would you have the option of doing LA?
I think so. They're doing team placement later and I think you can request a LA team. But only 5% of their SWEs are in LA so it's rare
