na
but that might have been related, i mentioned applying to my recruiter and they didnt mention it being a problem so idk
I would follow up with your recruiter, they might be able to help in this situation
MS pays bad for seniors but for new grad they hella competitive
Some companies are prioritizing previous interns for open new grad roles
I dont think they would have much of a say in the matter. I got a notif that a MS recruiter looked at my Linkedin so a real person def looked at my app, so for whatever reason I got rejected, i doubt it was a mistake unfortunatly
SRE, so SWE except I work on infra
and now they resume rejected u for SWE?
yep
even though i did the same shit the swes were doing during my internship lol
I have a strong feeling it was either because I had the return already and they didnt want to pull me away from it or the hiring freeze is too brutal
oh i was planning on taking it, and ill likely be doing very similar work
just about future career projection
yeah you can always switch teams later
apparently there is no limit to how soon I can switch lol
like I could switch a month in if I want
I interned MSFT SWE prev summer, rejected return for this summer for personal reasons, and now getting ghosted by my rec
Nice
bruh what, you rejected the return, why are you contacting your rec?
It was return for this summer intern. Applying now for new grad next summer. Took a summer off and my manager said all G
ohhh
Ouch, don't email too much but if it's been a week then try to follow up again
yeah no MS is in a brutal hiring freeze, that was the word around campus even during my internship
very likely hiring will be stringent
But campus recruiting is still ongoing though right
Fewer new grad count though I would think
I'm sure it is, but I was interviewing around to find a team I wanted to return to during my internship and all four I looked at were not taking new people
one even mentioned specifically a hiring freeze
Do they hire more new grads generally or more interns?
def interns lol, they take almost as many as amaz
this summer is was a couple thousand I think
I think amazon is like 10k, MS was 5-6k
Sounds about right
yeah this is easily the worst year for new grad, absolutely brutal
Capital One is gonna be a life saver for me this year
new grads arent nearly as cheap as interns lol. theres like triple the amount of intern apps than new grad
Not true
i made two statements lol, which one are you saying is not true?
Dang, hope my interview isn’t too tough then 🥺
All dependent on which interviewers you get
The latter
Former is accurate
I got a return offer making 180k/4 years and currently negging to get 205k/4, id say thats pretty competitive
How much base pay?
What level? Def not 59
I also have a return offer btw
First year…
No..?
What level are you? You’re not 59
118 + 30 + 17.5 is the first year offer
That’s not part of the offer nobody counts that
Bro what lol
