I am intern at Amazon now, which means no return offer?

I wouldn't assume that. I interned at intuit this summer and they don't interview new grads rn, but they give return offers for new grads to their interns

I'm also fall intern and my manager confirmed that we have headcount for interns, whether I meet the bar, time will tell

Headcount for intern return was already determined when u got the intern offer

Unless something in ur org/team changes, I'd check with ur manager

At least for SDE, not sure about the more rare positions like applied scientists
