155k base
23k perf bonus
Signing? Relocation?
No stocks, right? Priv company?
oh yeah no stocks
10k relocation with 7days of temp housing
4weeks paid vacation, unlimited sick days
they didnt mention a signing bonus but said they could raise the bonus
They need compete offers to add signon bonus
Whats the location?
NYC
final was basically talking about some of my internship projects with a senior manager
is 155k good enough for NYC
had final on friday got offer this morning
idk ngl 💀
other nyc based companies (quant excluded ofc) seem to give around 140-155k base
but bloomberg no stock or signon for their initial offer is something to keep in mind
Any idea if remote is a possibility?
no signon is just being plain cheap
didnt ask about remote since i would like to move to a diff city
bloomberg is trying to push for hybrid so i think getting remote would be a challenge
do you think only tech bros live in nyc 💀
look up the average income in nyc
Dont compare myself with peasants

i interned there last summer and they prolly wont do remote
at least one time per wee
k
interesting, my phone interviewer said that it was remote flexible lol
yeah now theyre saying 3 in office 2 remote
yea that's the official policy but most teams don't care
in my team everyone came in once a week
Sheeesh
bruh they only had onsite availability like a month after phone lol

for me at least
two weeks from application to final
they must really like you
but i had my entire interview process last week
uber if you are feeling brave
Microsoft I didnt like project all that much but enjoyed seattle and the people
kek yeah
Microsoft I am prob gonna take tho
same team not guaranteed
same org yes
will probably just be under my skip tho
isnt microsoft comp kinda bad tho
How should I prep for the virtual on-site? Just Bloomberg tagged?
i mean my msft offer is 👻 which is more than Bloomberg
the bot problems were enough for me
i c
sorta standard offer most msft returners are getting now bc they've suddenyl tightened the budget
maybe +10k on stock
What do you mean by bot problems>
Comparing the tax and cost of living in Seattle to NYC, msft is better than Bloomberg
the problems when you do !problems <company name>
oohh. makes sense!
Do yk if NYC and Princeton comps are the same
yeah and bloomberg prob cant/wont match lol
if you negotiate you'll at least get a signing bonus
for returning interns it's 208k FY TC
bloomberg can have up to 75k signon after competing (from someone I know)
yea lol
the offers are about the same on paper but nyc COL higher
Bloomberg is like max 213
i still dunno if I would take bloomberg over msft is i could get that
Even then I think after Living in both Seattle and nyc
Seattle is nyc lite
In terms of being a city
i mean a big draw for BB is that people love NYC a ton more than they do seattle, so if u dont care or prefer seattle then MSFT definitely better
def higher than that
if you mean 213 is the upper cap of comp
The progression for both companies is also rather slow
All cash is also nice too, at bloomy
Can just invest the would be stock into other stuff
msft offer expires wednesday :O
bloomberg said if I negotiate, I'd have 24 hours to accept afterwards lol
hey, I sent you a request. can you please accept ? I have VO for bloomberg this week and need to ask you some ques
Worth trying
If they beat the offer significantly
Seems like ur set on msft
But who knows
you can just ask here
would help the other people going through the process too
Yeah agreed.
I have my Vo on Thursday and have done top 60-70 lc tagged. Do I prepare system design or other different type of questions for these 2 days just o be fully prepared?
like other than LC
I did maybe the top 10 tagged question on LC and the questions from the bot (search !problems Bloomberg in this server) and that was more than enough. There's a slight chance on the final you get asked system design but not likely to get sys design for new grad
Yeah I have heard chances of getting OOD, like designing class and functions
yeah i do like msft plus some other people i know would be in seattle so would be fun to have people I know when starting out. Not so sure how much i like NYC rn. Still gonna look around at other companies tho but I'm getting tired of LC and searching plus hiring freezes :c
Yeah only thing motivating me is knowing it almost over
Thanks for sharing bro!
And then I’m free
bloomberg imo had the chillest process of any company I have interviewed with
was ur process fasttracked?
@woven shell VO was 3 rounds right (2 tech, 1 behavioral)?
are you set on google?
Yeah I’m only doing interviews so I can say I got the best offer possible from google
I loved my team
And the work I did
nice nice nice
155 base is pretty good in nyc
if it was 155k tc then maybe not
but performance and other related bonuses
tops you off near 200k anyways
@woven shell how much time did they give you to accept the offer?
verbal offer yesterday and she didnt say the time to accept. I would assume its 2 weeks tho but she said if you negotiate you have 24hours to accept after you get the updated offer
dude i just had my HM round
the recruiter fucked up my scheduling
so my interview was from 12:30 to 1 instead of 1 to 2
imma make a scene if they rejected me because of that
for bb?
@pale bane u have a twin?
yeah him and i are twin brothers
been reading this thread, in the same boat
