I had final today, first interview a week and a half before that, phone call a week before that and oa idk
System design was tough for sure
Nice, would System Design Primer or Grokking be good resources to study before hand? (not that i'm guaranteed to make it to the final)
And for the technical, was it a leetcode style (med or hard) question or OOD? Or was there networking/OS stuff that people have mentioned they were asked about in the past
I have no idea tbh I did not study
Technical wasn’t really LC style it was pretty easy then expanded into lowish level system design
Thanks, and congrats on the offer
For sure, good luck
Oh, I did actually read designing data intensive applications over the summer and that helped
Btw, what do you mean by lowish level system design? Is it different from normal system design
@harsh crown how should you prep for the low level system design in technical round, and also ^
I don't want to give too many specifics just in case but I know before the interview I had heard that Optiver cares about threading and networking understanding and that ended up being true. I didn't have a lot of academic experience with any of this but I understood it enough to pass ig
Hey! Congrats on your offer! I've got my final next Thursday, I'm wondering what prep I can do for it?
I've been going back over TCP vs. UDP, multicasting/broad/uni, p2p vs. client-server, etc.
and also things like concurrency (locks/mutex/semaphores, etc.)
are there any other things I can do to prepare? I'm really damn anxious haha.
also any tips on what they're looking for (can be super general, not trying to make you break the nda)
with all of that you should be fine. Just keep doing what you're doing
Awesome - forgot to ask, which location were you applying for?
